Yes, that is tin foil. Is that a problem? I put it there to help reflect the UVB light, as it doesn't have a reflector in it. Oh, also I have one mister tube that squirts straight up and it will hit the foil instead of the wood.
Thanks, I just love him. Just got off the phone with Kelly, the seller. What a fun nice person.
Oh, the picture only happened so easily because of the new photobucket app for my ipad. I was one of those forever people on the tortoise forum I belong to, before the app:D
My big beautiful male veiled I got from forum member KellysChameleons has arrived safe and sound. Thank you so much Kelly, he is perfect. Can't wait for him to get settled and comfortable. He was ready to come out of the shipping bag and did not hesitate getting on my hand. I had his cage...
I hear ya. Just found out yesterday about the need for drainage and my cage is built and my Cham is coming tomorrow. I am doing without drainage for now. If I see that the cage bottom is collecting more water then I had anticipated, then I will ad a drainage at that time.
BTW, if you have a...
I just looked at a members new enclosure he built for the veiled he's getting. He built it on top of a drainage tub, it looks really nice. i was just wondering, is there that much water run off that a drain is needed? I just built my cage and I have no drain, just plastic lined bottom.
I just built a cage/free range. I have screen on the back, screen on the two lower sides and plastic on the two upper sides and the upper back to help with holding in humdity and heat. There is no door. There will be a screen door for night time and when we are gone. Do not buy the monsoon...
Hopefully going to the one they have on Sundays. I never been. Hoping for some cool things to look at. Do they usually sell live food at it? That's what I'm hoping to get.
You are not alone. However, I personally believe you will never be done. I am the same way as you and a lot of the others. We are never really done, because we want it to be too perfect, or we just want it better. That, however is a good thing, too me anyway. So, don't give up. You will get it...
Beautiful, really beautiful. I would love to see a pic of the whole aquarium. I have a marine tank. Always wanted to do a coral tank, but never really have, except a small one and they are too hard. I work in an aquarium store, so I get my fix of actually doing one buy just going to work.
Many of us tortoise people use them. I wouldn't think it would be good for a Cham. Other types of lizards, like a Uro, it would probably be very useful.
I have always seen a flourescent tube type 5.0 mentioned and lots of foliage for them to escape into, away from the light. However, I am new to this, so only suggesting what I have read.
