I will try that then. Thanks. Hopefully I can get the worms to do their thing. They are quite pretty and kinda cute. I would hate to just throw them away or kill them.:D
I mean, I would grow them as described in your instruction link. But, once they turned into moths, can I then just put them in with the Cham to eat. I don't really want eggs. If they were to lay some before eaten, then I will collect them. Otherwise, I would let them live in the chams cage until...
Thank you for the link. Very informative and easy to follow. Now, I don't really want to raise hornworms. So, can I put the moths in the chams cage and let him eat them as he pleases until they are gone or dead?
Thanks for the info. I tried looking it up, but didn't really find much info. What kind of soil do you use? Would coconut coir be okay? How deep does it have to be? Can I keep the container in the bottom of the chams cage?
I have some really big horn worms. My chameleon didn't go for them as much as I thought he would. Can he still eat them or would they be too large. He is a male veiled 1 yr. old in February. The worms are almost or are full grown. What can I do with them if he can't eat them?
Thanks
I have the monsoon, don't get it. I found out about it after i bought it and now stuck with it. I even tried to take it back with no luck. It sucks. Less then a week old, using distiller water, and one nozzle was clogged. Can't wait for it to die, so I can replace it.
He will be 1year sometime in feb. I didn't get the exact day. Anyway, I have seen him angle himself. Sometimes he doesn't. I was wondering because he had just gone through a head shed. The top of his casque is still whiteish looking, like peeling skin, but hard to tell if it is skin. I was...
I posted about a week ago about my Cham and heat. I changed things and got the heat corrected. Now, my question is. When my Cham is basking. Should the top of his back or the casque be the hottest spot? My chams back is mid 80's but the top of his casque is 100. He doesn't sit with his mouth...
Mine are long, has blunt but pretty wide tips and ridges o help grasp and hold the feeder, but either I am also not squeezing hard enough, in fear of smashing or they just don't hold well. I almost bought the rubber tipped ones, but didn't think they would hold as well. I also have tried...
Okay, I bought a pair of feeding tongs, metal, for feeding reptiles. They suck! The worms can wiggle out of them and the crickets, well I can pick them up and just as quickly they are out of them. Is it me or are there better feeding tongs out there? I have lost two crickets and geez, I...
We, at the tortoise forum I am a member of , have still been seeing cases of the coil bulbs causing problems with tortoises. I wouldn't chance using them, period. Now, we don't know if they are using the old bad bulbs or the new bulbs that are suppose to be okay. The bad bulbs were never pulled...
So sorry for what happened. No one, specially your dad should say things like that to you. Is there a reason you can't bring him with you when you go to your mothers? Good luck to you. And know, we think only good things of you.
I have an 11 month old male veiled. 24x24x6 foot tall enclosure. All temps and humidity are right on. Just got that corrected the other day, with the help of forum members. My Cham does the same thing, except coming out. He wants to, moves around all day long, is always going to the door of the...
Make sure your dad knows that you are on here learnign all that you can and asking all these questions to prove to him you ared dead serious. Ask if he would like to come on and ask any question or concerns he may have. Make him some kind of a written deal. That after you get your Cham, if you...
I am a parent. I would not have a problem with my child wanting a reptile, as I of course love them. Actually, my son couldn't careless about them. Anyway, the best way as a parent I can tell you is to show responsibility now. Save up money. Take care of any animals you already have. Do as...
Think I got it
I sent my hubby to a hardware store to find 75 watt bulb. He found them and I switched it with the 60. So, I think I finally got temps right. Lowered the basking branch, so the basking temp is the same. However, I got mid 70's below and to side of that and then low 70's further...
