i was thinking live terrarium moss and the tray is 2 1/2" do you think thats deep enough

its for my female nosy be i wanted to get one of theose substrate trays from lll reptile, i wanted her to have a spot to lay and i know substrate is generaly bad so i was wondering if i covered it with moss it would be better
