My glass is at 50% of its maximum capacity. Perception is not reality. Reality is reality. The only regulation that ever proves effective is self regulation motivated by economics. That will only be achieved through consumer education, not government regulation.
Who decides what appropriate care is for your mythical certification program? Whoever writes their care sheets is often misguided at best. Vets? Most vets are years behind whatever the hobbyists are doing in the reptile field. Most Hobbyists can't agree on standards of care, and even if they...
Great ideas! Lets convince the government that even pet chains can't effectively handle reptiles in the pet trade and that banning them will be a good thing!
Pet stores aren't designed to care for any animal for more than a week or two, and the conditions in a pet store are like heaven...
There is no such thing as always in genetics. The biggest factor is the genetic makeup of the mother, which isn't always the easiest thing in the world to determine.
I think it is possible to refine out a line to where it throws something consistently, and in general if a breeder has a nice...
Standard mistking nozzles run at .7gph theoretically, if you're running two nozzles in the cage, my schedule is about a total of 20 minutes a day, that's ~.46 gallons of water daily. Of that some will be evaporated, absorbed by plants, consumed, etc. I'd say you could plan on seeing anywhere...
First of all, looks good. Nice to see when people actually do their research and listen.
Second, the misting is really less about humidity and more about stimulating the chams to drink. If you're not misting that much, you then need to run a dripper, which still necessitates drainage.
This seems like blatant irresponsibility, borderline abuse. Why would you even let them be out together, let alone in any situation where they're touching each other? One of them could have been seriously hurt. Some words come to mind.. but I imagine i'd get an infraction for them.
Some might disagree with me here, but I'm of the opinion that you shouldn't own an animal unless you can afford it, everything it needs, and a few extra hundred dollars that goes in the bank for vet bills. I actually keep a separate bank account for that. Every new animal means more cash in that...
with the cloth bags, he'll curl up, have something to grab onto with all of his feet, and go right to sleep. I mean, when its totally dark, these guys are practically comatose. It really is the safest way.

That said, I got mine from my local pet store.. just make sure to wash in hot water /bleach them if they are used.
The key is primarily achieving total darkness. The cham will practically go into deep sleep and be fine. When i've had to transport mine, I use reptile shipping bags (which are just little cloth sacks), inside a box lined with a towel.
The problem with cross breeding is that you end up with a some less valuable, but possibly interesting males... and a whole bunch of essentially worthless females that are very easy to turn into valuable females with a little white lie.
People do it because I think deep down they are hoping...
Sure I can. Pets get to live. Chameleons in their native habitat get to live. Chameleons in a wild non-native location with the potential to cause damage as an invasive species are to be captured, regulated to the pet trade, or disposed of.
Show me one of these "Anti-Reptile Supporters" that...
Yeah gotta say.. Clearly these animals need to be taken out of the florida wild.. I'm sure any captured by the government are destroyed. They can't all be pets. So to answer your question, I'm just as comfortable with someone destroying the tokay as I am a wild veiled.
I also understand why...
I don't think there is any kind of regulating agency that determines which crickets are safe for your animals, and which are only good for fishing.
The reality is that these are raised on some kind of cricket farm, just like any other crickets you'd buy at any pet store. Bait is the largest...
We're going to agree to disagree. Changing a city law is easier than changing a state law, and changing a state law is easier than changing a federal law.
A federal law doesn't care if sugar gliders are destructive in PA or not, as long as they're destructive ANYWHERE they won't be allowed...
