I Hope Your Guys Are Proud Of Me Now!!

It's great to hear that he likes his new cage and seems happier. I think that your glass cage was kept too humid for his liking which is why he was gaping. Either way, he is a cute little guy and I wish you the best of luck with him :) You know what they say, "there's more than one way to...

I Hope Your Guys Are Proud Of Me Now!!

His new cage looks nice and definitely better furnished. Just my opinion though; you really didn't need to get a screen cage since your glass one was perfectly fine (just a little bare inside). I wish people would get off the whole "it needs to be screen" motto. It's actually easier to...

Is This Natural For A Carpet Cham?

When you say "probably 85 degrees", there's uncertainty. You need to find out the actual basking temp. Take your temp probe and place it exactly where he basks. Let is sit there for a few minutes with the enclosure door closed until you get a steady reading. I would recommend a basking temp...

    4mo. old Ambilobe

I was dreading this day when I would have to let go of my last panther :(. He needs a good home. He's 4 months old and is a member of the Spock/Punkin clutch recently offered. He just went through a shed and is showing good coloration. He's a glutton and eats like there is no tomorrow. I...

My Carpet Chameleon Not Acting Right??

When you spray him directly, be careful that you don't completely cover his nostril hole and have him aspirate the water (you don't want that). Try and aim for the front of the mouth and let the water bead on his lips so he can just lap it up. These guys are so small that you have to be really...

My Carpet Chameleon Not Acting Right??

Although the glass stones look small in the pic, what isn't shown is the carpet cham to relate to their size. The stones are more than twice the size of my carpet's head and there is no physical or physiological way that he could ever ever swallow them. I thought the exact same thing when...

My Carpet Chameleon Not Acting Right??

Just don't use a cup that's too shallow. We have yet to find any escapees from the cup. They seem to just walk around once they are in the cup. You also have the option of removing their hind legs if it made you feel more secure.

My Carpet Chameleon Not Acting Right??

I use wood planter boxes that I made but you could use any regular small plastic pot. If you want, you can cover the dirt with river rocks that are too big for them to swallow. As far as cup feeding, just use any cup that you can situate under a vine or branch so he can access it. Make sue he...

My Carpet Chameleon Not Acting Right??

Are you free ranging his food? If so, then he could have gotten some of the substrate if he shot them while on the ground. That could explain the whole tongue issue. He might be tryingn to get some of it out of his mouth or throat. I've seen another thread where the cham would extend it's...

    Carpet Male

Thanks. The wife will be happy to hear that. Of course, I taught her :D Thanks :) Coming from someone who breeds these little guys, that's a nice compliment. If you decide to get another cham, you can't go wrong with either a panther or carpet. Husbandry wise, they are both about the...

    Carpet Male

Just wanted to share some pics of my male carpet cham. I'm only left with the smaller chams now since my wife doesn't mind them too much and can tolerate the little feeders to help take care of them when I'm not home. At least she's willing to help and I didn't have to completely leave the...
