Every since I got my veiled chameleon, I've been spending $15 for crickets every week, that's about $60 a month. Is it possible to breed my own crickets instead of always buying? If so, how are you guys doing it?
How much do you guys buy crickets at a time? It seems like i'm spending 15-20 every week and a half. That's like $40-50 a month! Is it possible to breed these crickets yourself?
*UPDATE*
He finished shedding already and he was kind of hungry so I fed him like 5 crickets. Took him outside to absorb some sunlight, whipped out my brother's dslr and snapped some pictures.
3 month old Cham shedding, do I help him or leave him alone?*UPDATED*
He's currently shedding and wonder if I can help him or just leave him alone? I read that all his shed must be off or there's no blood circulation. Can I just peal it off for him?
I recently got a great deal on craigslist that included 3 screen cages, 2 mistking pumps, 15 nozzles, 6 light bulbs, fixtures and tubings, all for $225. My question are for the bulbs. 2 small ones are exo terra's sun glo 50 & 75W and the other says Zoo Med Powersun U.V. Is the zoo med for uv...
I had my exo terra 18x18x24 within only a week and swapped it out for a screen cage instead, those glass terrariums are so hard to clean/maintain. Especially the pool of water at the bottom.
I have a subwoofer also but not near my cham. The deep bass sound DOES create heavy vibrations even on humans, to a chameleon, it'll just blow them away, literally. I wouldn't put them near one. But to my 6 inch speaker woofer, it's fine, doesn't bother him.
Wow, only 3 months? I can't wait till mine gets that big but I also like him when he's still a baby. I only got mine for 2 weeks, went back to the same place I got him and noticed his brothers and sister is much smaller than him. I guess I'm feeding him well. Good job on yours.
My cage is on my computer desk using home stereo speakers, right next to his cage. I turn on the music once in a while, he seems to be ok except when I turn on loud bass music like dubstep or so...lol. He runs all over the place.
Yea, these Exo Terra's are great, especially the small ventilation in the front, but I just don't want to drill the glass or do and modifications to it because eventually I'll have to change it to a bigger size cage. Plus I can re-sell it in the future. Also, I found a very good deal on...
Well, the monsoon is a VERY nice design and I just love the timer, it's just very convenient, but I had to get rid of it because it doesn't really mist more like spray. It will pretty much flood your enclosure. Compared to the Mistking, even though I got it used, it still mist way better than...
Got rid of my Exo Terra 18x18x24 and went with something more proper/less maintenance. I had the whole Exo Terra setup including the Monsoon system for about a week and got tired of the pool of water and also having to worry about my cham's health problems, so I got a screen cage with Mistking...
Bought mine used, 2 pumps for $225 with 10 nozzles, 3 screen cages, lighting, tank. I love the mistking more than the monsoon. big difference in the quality of the misting, instead of a spray.
I took the plastic off, just don't like the design and price, want something a little cheaper(paid $50) ..I do have a basking light, using a 40 watt regular bulb.
I recently changed my light fixture from the exo terra cfl's to the reptisun 5.0 18" tubes with the zilla light fixture. I don't like the zilla because it has a plastic cover, covering the bulb. Where can I get a good light fixture? I've been hearing a lot about Arcadia Lighting but don't know...
