It's o.k. The cage is easy to put together, but the screws rusted on the first day for me and there are little holes in the frame that crickets hide in which makes free ranging a pain. The lights are excellent, but the mister is junk. Also, my humidity gauge broke within the first week. I give...
Get an Umbrella plant aka "Schefflera Aboricola/Capella". I bought one for ten bucks at Walmart and it was three small ones in the same pot. Remove all the soil and seperate the plants so you can rotate them. Use organic soil, cover that with stones (from Home Depot "Mexican Beach" are great as...
At least you can hold yours lol. My panther is o.k with me spot cleaning his cage and adding crickets, but if I so much as offer him a branch to climb on he hisses and bites it. I'm starting to leave his door open with a plant to climb onto, but no luck yet.
Believe it or not, yes! Mine was doing laps around the top of the cage after I moved a branch. I figured maybe he wanted to get out of his cage, so I put another Umbrella just outside the door with a branch pointing, but no luck.
Ah, that makes sense. I don't know much about monitors, but they need a big tank and eat bugs when they are little. Do you know how much they eat when they are babies vs. adults.
I want a monitor sooo bad! I've been looking at kingsnakeclassified every day. Thats awesome you got one. Looks like your trying to tame him a little bit with the hand walking.
Stay away. I got one with my chameleon and it's so loud that it wakes me up in the morning. It's not even a mister...more of a dripper if anything. The Habba has a good timer, but that's about it. The hoses are too short and the reservoir is a little on the small side. Also, I haven't found any...
In large quantities they are, so if your cham isn't a big cow he/she should be fine. I like the Umbrella plant the most because it looks more topical and the leaves hold water droplets well.
My cage looked a lot like that until today. I noticed my little guy would only hang out in two places like in a fake bush in the top corner or on his bare uvb perch. While the rest of the cage went unused. It was completely comprised of fake vines and leaves. However, I took all that crap out...
I think you need to loose the substrate/bark
loose the water bowl unless you empty it everyday
and get a taller enclosure
These things live in trees, remember.
I'd say he's more than 3 months bc I feel like I'm looking at my chameleon in the future. I mean, my guy has tiny hints of green in the exact same spot on the face and I can see orange on his neck when he puffs up. I will be interesting to see how they both turn out so keep posting!
