The nearly weekly shedding should have given me a clue, I just didn't think about it. He started a shed on his belly this weekend and now he has these awesome spots there! With each shed is like a surprise waiting underneath! :p

Jake grew an astonishing two inches in one month! My guess is he's about 7 months old now, and I was wondering if growth at this rate was typical for juvenile/sub-adult male veileds. Boy am I glad I went for the 2x2x4 cage!

And I thought cats and kids slept in the most uncomfortable positions. Every time I spy Jake in a weird sleeping position I feel bad and wish I had a little bed of leaves for him :o

camimom is right. veileds are omnivorous so as long as the plant is chameleon safe, it is perfectly acceptable for your guy to eat it.

We have the ones that emerge every year (I guess), I live in north Texas. I was thinking about doing some night hunting this weekend for them before they hatch. I heard some buzzing yesterday so I thought it might be fun to go lookin for them.

I was looking into Repashy's supplements also and I was so confused by all the different calcium concoctions that I gave up. I'm just doing the normal deal: calcium every day or so (depending on if he actually eats them before the dust gets sprayed off by the mister), ca with d3 every two weeks...

He certainly is! Every day I look for subtle changes, and I usually notice one here and there, but last night when I (very rudely) awakened him with my camera, I was in for a treat. For a Petsmart chameleon, he sure is a show stopper :p
