Plant drainage.
The drainage system is definantly my next priority. I plan on spending a pretty penny to do the shelving and drainage system right the first time. That on only reason i have a drainage problem right now.
Jackson seems stressed out
Ok.... So i was up late last night trying to figure out the problem with the change. When i went to move the plant inside the cage, the base of the pot collapsed and all the water poured out. The water smelled so foul that i had to leave for a few minutes. Now i want...
Current Problem - Just in the past two days, my Jackson has not wanted to be in his cage. As a matter of fact, he is straight up refusing to be in there. I got up in the middle of the night to see him walking around the floor of his fresh air cage trying to escape. So, doing what I thought he...
Rhino on Cereal Bowl
I have no idea. My daughter was eating breakfast and he kept going to the cereal bowl. She would move him, and he would come right back. He just likes exploring. He actually gets pissed off if he is sitting in his change.
Finally I'm able to introduce both my chameleons. So finally I give you........ Floyd & Rhino!
Floyd is the newest member to the family. Floyd is a Veiled Chameleon fresh from the East Coast Reptile Show and Rhino is a 10 month old male Jackson Chameleon who love to be free and run and hide...
Triceros laterispinis
WoW! Great pics. I love the shots of him blending in with the tree. I love it when chameleon owners think outside the box.
Thanks
Humidity
Where is the caged housed at? I would also recommend a new or another plant in the enclosure. One that stays moist. FLChams has a great plant list for chameleons. Just having a live plant in the enclosure should help.
Jackson Cage
I think for the time being you will fine, but I would start working on a new set up as soon as possible. I started with a glass enclosure too, but chameleons really new to be housed in a fresh air cages. At a minimum, for a Jackson I would get a cage that is at least 18"W x 18"L x...
California vs Florida
I've actually lived in both states. I used to live in the San Francisco Area, San Diego, and Pensacola Florida. Personally if I could do it all over again i would pick San Diego. Great all year round weather, tons to do, lost of work opportunity, i just loved it a lot.
I've come across this quite a few times. The place I actually bought my Jackson from had strict rules about customers buying certain animals. The store I bought my Cham from required their customers to have prior reptile experience before they would sell them a Cham. On top of that, if you are a...
Petsmart
I actually know a manager at a local Petsmart in the Philadelphia Area. She is actually a reptile specialist and chameleon owner. She told me once that at her store they actually took out their chameleon's after store hours and placed them in screen cages in the back. Petsmart is a...
