I am building this in anticipation of adult chameleons. I've got plenty of smaller enclosures for when they are younger. I'm keeping it as one unit for 2reasons:
1 - I'm installing a water filtration system in the bottom of the cage that will be hooked up to a misting or rain sytem. It...
1 Lumber - That new cage isn't going to be cheap
2 Cash - university is expensive, especially if you're broke to start with and like to eat every day
3 Male veiled for my female, if number 1 gets done first
then try this
I came home from school and found a whole wall missing in my house. when my mom gets bored she starts knocking stuff down. I'm almost afraid to leave home now.
but back to chameleons, last time I changed the setup (2 plants in a 10 gallon tank, she's only a baby) she...
Now those ^^^ are attack geckos. Watched them get fed at the local exotics store, owner was feeding them crickets with tongs. They almost knocked the tongs from him when they struck.
(Not to mention their breeding call, hilarious)
My bedroom - Veiled chameleon, cat on my bed
My brother's room - 9 Leopard Geckos (7 hatchlings, 2 in quarantine, just picked them up from Missisauga Expo today :)) as well as all the crickets, mealworm colonies, wax worms, incubators and god only knows what else.
Living room - 3 rats, 6...
Verathane is a brand of polyurathane. Don't use it if you plan on painting the wood, it will peel like Grizz said. I personally prefer a wood finish on my cages so Verathane works fine for me.
I'm going to be building a new enclosure for my veiled chameleon and hopefully her new mate. The cage will feature a removable midsection to keep them seperated and out of sight that can later be removed for breeding.
The cage as of now will be 30" deep by 48" wide and 72" tall. So each...
I finished a tank for my buddy's iguana about a year ago. Stained the wood, then gave it three or four coats of verathane to seal it (let it dry between coats) and let it sit for 5 days in my garage. Thing's showing no sign of damage yet.
I believe the first thing that needs to be cleared up is if its a Leopard Gecko or a Fat-tailed gecko. While they both have similar dietary needs, Leopard geckos are semi-arid while Fat-tails like it a little cooler with a bit more humidity.
Try 6-8 3/4" crickets a night, with an...
New to the forums, like to say hi.
I've got a question concerning the size and weight of veiled chameleons relative to their age.
I picked up a female from Chameleon Nation at the September Mississauga Expo. She's about 3-3.5 months old I believe. As of today she weighs in at 13.8g before...
