    would like two

If it could be flipped on its side it would be okay. Chameleons need height more than width. That cage would be best for a nearly fully grown male Veiled or panther. females and juveniles would do better in a smaller enclosure. You would have a hard time keeping any food contained as it could...

    Anyone have this one?

From what I've heard they're better for temporary enclosures for taking your chameleons outside. I was thinking of getting the next size down for the summer. Looks a lot like the flexariums, but I believe this one has a finer mesh.

    How often would you say...

I've never seen mine drink in the 4 months I've had her, but she's always well hydrated. I always have fresh kale in a container full of water that she loves though.

    Voting Bug??

Its not related to post count, it's based on the amount of time you have been a member. I've had member status for a few months, but there are some new junior members with more posts than myself. I think the transition time is 2 or 3 weeks.

    Albino? :O

Looking at Syn's post, albinoism and transluscentism () would seem to be different traits. Albinoism is caused by a double recessive allele. High transluscent chams would have a double co-dominant transluscent allele, while low transluscent would have 1 transluscent allele and 1...

    Do You or Don't You???

My sister names all my pets for me. Named the chameleon Germaine (though she was referred to as Not-Germaine for about a month until I gave in). Named my rat Molly (completely black except for white "gloves" and her lower stomach. Just like a maid). Might explain why my grass lizards were...

    my new veiledddd

A few breeders will mark there stock with a dot to make sexing easier. If you're going to have a couple dozen reptiles to sell, it saves time to sex them earlier than to sex on the spot while selling. Dot usually disappears after a shed or 2 or will just wash off.

    Is This Male Veiled healthy?

I don't know, look about halfway up the casque. There's some discolouration and looks out of shape. Burn maybe?

    New Veiled Cham questions

very nice looking, especially considering where you got her from. No burns, cuts or missing limbs, that's a first coming from petsmart. Big no on the wild caught bugs though, lots of nasty stuff on them. lllreptile has a cage on special right now that would appropriate. 24x24x48

1 You've got the correct UV bulb. Either the fixture is malfunctioning or you've got the bulb installed incorrectly. DO NOT USE coil type UV bulbs, they only cause eye problems. A nightlight is not needed. Nightime temperatures should be around 65*F Ambient daytime temps for juvi veiled...

    Important Physiological Question...

Egg came from whatever the most recent ancestor of a chameleon was. Hopeful Monster Mechanism. It's an addition to the Darwin's theory of evolution, but helps explain rapid speciation in more complex organisms.

    HELP with veiled chameleon

I've tried something similar to having a bowl of water in the bottom for humidity. It helps very little, if at all. So yes you are better off taking it out. As for misting, it depends on the size of the enclosure. I spray mine down enough to have a 75 - 80% humidity spike around the...
