    veiled colour question

At that age mine seemed to go back to his original colours at nightime when he was sleeping. This was mostly a bright green, not near white but in the dark it possibly would look bright and cause you to think it was.

Vieled Cham skin peeling? -thought it was shedding but after 20 hours i'm doubtful

I would think nightime temperatures in winter could get below 16 C. It certainly feels like it to me. Judging what other people say it is probably fine providing I can keep it above freezing and usually it wont go nearly that low. Is the bark really that much of a problem? It's only been in...

Vieled Cham skin peeling? -thought it was shedding but after 20 hours i'm doubtful

Maybe I just need to monitor the temperature of my room in winter and not let it get too cold although by the sound of it they shouldn't be too effected by it anyway. There are plenty of people here keeping chams in much colder places than where I am.

Vieled Cham skin peeling? -thought it was shedding but after 20 hours i'm doubtful

MacHameleon Clan? When I first got him, he could walk across my face without there being any real pain but I wouldn't allow that to happen now. I find if he's happy enough he will settle on my shoulder but if he is worried he will try and climb as high as possible endlessly and never...

He should adjust his markings to resemble Tartan on national days such as St Andrews Day and Burns night. Or he could turn Blue with a white diagonal cross I've been a lot more careful recently with handling. I haven't actulaly handled him since I cleaned out his cage but I think I will be...

Vieled Cham skin peeling? -thought it was shedding but after 20 hours i'm doubtful

My book suggested using newspaper at the bottom of the cage. My only concern is crickets might try and eat that as they don't seem to be picking about eating anything. It also looks a big gash but I guess it's a lot cheaper (pretty much free as we get at least 2 newspapers every day in this...

    Plastic Totes for Caging...

Looks like a really great idea. I want to get myself some Pygmy's and attempt to breed them in a couple of years time. Deffinately need a heat mat for pretty much anything here though, in my opinion. At least in the winter. I just realised I have pretty much all those items lying around my room...

Calyptratus are Yemen/Vieled? I looked it up and I learn something new every day.... I am quite amazed by the fact you can keep them outside concidering we are probably in a vaugely similar climate (although probably colder winters and slightly warmer summers in Sweden). Do you use night time...

Vieled Cham skin peeling? -thought it was shedding but after 20 hours i'm doubtful

Thanks for the responses and the advice. It is quite a relief that people think he isn't dehydrated. I've already been misting and used the drip system 3 times today, in an attempt to get him to drink more. This will also raise the humidity so has that effect. I'm thiking of attaching the...

Vieled Cham skin peeling? -thought it was shedding but after 20 hours i'm doubtful

Dehydration is what I think is most likely. The symptoms don't really fully match his condition but as he has been drinking water it's unlikely to be a particualrly bad case of dehydration. It's more that he hasn't been drinking enough water, if my thoughts are correct. "Symptoms to watch out...

    July '09 Photo Contest

Very impressive. I'm just signed up to this forum and recently got my first Yemen. There is so much variety in the world of chameleons and I honestly couldn't decide between those photos as they are all so good in their own ways.
