I feel a bit bad as I bought the last 3 boxes of locusts from my local exotic pet shop today when another guy had been waiting longer than me, just hadn't got as far as asking for locusts. In hingsight, I should have been nice and offered him one of the boxes of locusts but I was a bit worried...
My guy kept trying to get out and would usually walk onto my arms when offered for the last month or two, then last week I got a bigger cage and when I open the door he tends just to go upwards (I am now below the chameleon) above the roof of the cage if he bothers leaving at all. Maybe when he...
I only ordered live food on internet for the first time last week and they still haven't arrived (he told me they would get ore in on Wednesday and send them out as soon as they get them, which hopefully will be tommorow).
Everything else so far I've bought from my local shop. It's a very...
I've been concidering the posibility of a misting system recently. Currently I just hand mist + fill up dripper (plastic cup with hole in bottom). My chameleon cage is on my desk with no drainage. I've just been cleaning out the bottom of the cage with anti bacterial cleaner + replace newspaper...
Would I be right in thinking there is a notable drainage system involved for a 15-20 minute misting session? Even after 5 minutes I would imagine a fair quantity of water to gather at the bottom otherwise. I've never actually used a misting system but this appeared to me to be likely.
So I heard on this forum. If I recall the results of the test I saw were done using a single bulb/tube of each make and I only saw the results of one test so I am not bought by this 100% but I will probably purchase a Reptisun 5.0 as a replacement for my current bulb which I got in May as the...
I upgraded from 38 Gallon Exo Terra Flexarium to the 100 Gallon model. I know a lot of people here aren't big fan of Flexariums but I got it for £18 UK + postage on ebay and my chameleon seems to be enjoying the extra space.
First thing I did when I got it was get out 'multi surface anti...
I'd say my average so far has been 2 varieties but recently the only thing that could be concidered a staple that my guy will eat regularly is Locusts. My mum would never forgive me if I got cockroaches so are a bit stuck on them as he wont eat any crickets at the moment.
I have some wax...
If I had a spair light fitting/starter motor would there be a notable advantage to keeping my old bulb in addition to a new one in with the chameleon after this '6 month period' which I am about to reach (got mine in may)?
Hoping to get some form of Panther Chameleons. They will be getting Nosey Be's at a shop near me 4 weeks befoare christmas and I also have a spair Flexarium and a Terrarium but as much as Nosey Be's are awsome i'd prefer another Locale and my mum will kill me if I get any more chameleons prior...
Here was me worrying when my guy fell of a chair onto the grass. Still will make sure not to let him fall again anyhow.
Crazy that there is a Panther Chameleon living in a plant nursery. It's a big greenhouse so sort of could sustain a suitable enviroment for the creature? Still craziest thing...
I've only been at it this year but my method is just to chop up whatever fruit and veg I have (usually only 2-3 items of fruit i.e 1 grape, 1 blueberrie and 1 segment of orange) and put it in with my locusts and crickets (at the moment my guy wont eat crickets). Not saying my approach is the...
I've became interested in breeding my own super worms.
I've been looking at breeding guides on the internet as well as youtube videos. Can someone make sure i'm following it correctly and i'm still unsure over a number of things.
A lot of people use pill containers like this one to seperate...
I have 3 small Hibiscus plants. 2 of them are in my relatively small screen cage which is getting replaced with a bigger one now my cham is getting bigger.
Anyway, one has lost nearly all it's leaves, other has many many leaves and the other is growing upwards relatively fast. Not sure what to...
I have no real opinion on what the OP should do other than the fact they now have multiple offers of people willing to look after their chameleon so would seem like a sensible option.
I was away Thursday - Monday (4 nights) in August. I left my ~6 month old chameleon in the same place he...
