I completely understand how you feel Cheryl! This is why I am really hesitant to breed my Nosy Be Moe, even though I got him a girlfriend (Nelly). I know I would get really attached to the little babies and have a hard time letting them go...
At least you know the little guy has Olive's...
Just my anecdotal observation. I am sure that a dedicated keeper can succeed using MV, but I am reluctant for the below reasoning.
I always put one end of my linear tube UVB (Arcadia T5HO 6%) next to the basking bulb so the cham can get UVB while it heats itself up. I have a perch that...
I have seen no evidence that there is any credibility to the superworm risk. They are aggressive but their bite isn't very powerful.
It is true that crickets will bite your cham overnight if you leave them in the cage, especially if they haven't eaten for a couple days. I always remove the...
I think Olive is trying to make you as tough as she is by putting you through this... Heck, this situation is giving me some grey hairs!
Just know that we are all here rooting for you guys and hoping this drama will end with a happy outcome.
I am so sorry for your loss, RIP Lily.
As is self evident, she had an incredible run, and you should take great comfort in that. We all can only hope and strive to give our girls the long life you gave Lily, kudos to you.
Thanks for the update Cheryl! I hope that is the last of the slugs, it makes sense that they would be with the oxytocin... I just know she is going to get through this, she is so darn tough! It makes me feel good to know that she is little Sammy's momma and I hope that he has that same...
What an ordeal for both you and Olive! I'm glad to hear she is getting more "relaxed" at the vet but I'm sad to hear she had more slugs. It's got to be so hard to hear her passing the slugs, but she is tough and I know she is going to be OK.. :)
The disconnect between the tone of this thread and the subject matter has me scratching my head... We are talking bug food here, so no need for attacks
I have all the products being discussed here and they all have their uses alongside produce. I personally find DinoFuel to be...
What is your cage size? Can you post pictures? A lot of the time they are bored with a limited or too small enclosure.
It may be that you just have an adventurous chameleon. Some seem to be shy and prefer to be in the same spot all the time and others seem to have a need to explore all...
What a beautiful mix of pastels! I love PJ's!
Unfortunately my ambilobe girl sleeps so far down in her plant that I have no idea what her PJ's look like..
Wow, I have never heard of any of these besides parsons in captivity in NOAM. Calumma Brevicorne is my favorite looking chameleon species, I would love to see one in person :)
Thanks for sharing, I will be interested to know more about the legal status of these imports.
lol! Snails eat everything! I put a few in Moe's cage for him to munch on and when I came back I saw them chowing down on my orchid leaves and flowers! I love my snails but I am starting to understand why they are considered pests :)
What a cool thing to be able to do! It is amazing how prevalent they are at night... They must climb further up in the trees during the day, or maybe they are just better chamo-flaged during they day. I sure wish I could do this!
Thanks for the update, they are really cute chameleons... No noticable bulge, so maybe you have a couple young ladies, but I am by no means an expert on sexing or this species.
I know I would have a hard time letting them go :)
