    Small Scab and Eye Rubbing

Chameleon Info: Your Chameleon - Female Veiled Chameleon, Est. Age 3-4 months, I've had her for about three weeks. Handling - I handle her as little as possible; I've tried the shower method to get her hydrated but other than that the handling has been minimal. Feeding - I feed her 5-6...

Quick Question about the Logistics of Using Worms as Feeders

Thanks for the suggestion, Ziggy. I'll give it a try and hopefully she'll start eating the worms soon. I'm going to clean out a yogurt cup and cut it smaller so the worms are easier for her to get to. Thanks for the help everybody.

Quick Question about the Logistics of Using Worms as Feeders

How do you attach it to the screen cage? Or do you just let it hang free, using the plants to hold it up? I've had a lot of trouble getting vines and such installed on the screen cage. I'm not sure how I'd install a hanging cup into the cage.

Quick Question about the Logistics of Using Worms as Feeders

My enclosure isn't exactly conducive to putting food on leaves... It isn't bare, but the foliage density is on the low end of the spectrum; I haven't been able to flesh it out as much as I'd like. I'm planning on getting some live plants to add to the cage soon. Thanks for the input. Hopefully...

Quick Question about the Logistics of Using Worms as Feeders

I recently bought mealworms and waxworms to feed to my new veiled chameleon. I put them in a dish in the bottom of the cage, but she's almost never at the bottom of the cage. How is she supposed to know they're there? Should I put her at the bottom to show her where they are? I tried feeding her...

Female Veiled Chameleon Sitting on Cage Floor, Dark Colors

So I just gave her a long, direct misting of warm water and I finally saw her drink. I know she's not instantly better but it is a relief to have seen her get some water in her. She also changed off of her dark colors as soon as she started drinking, and she's back to a resting light green. I'm...

Female Veiled Chameleon Sitting on Cage Floor, Dark Colors

Thanks for helping me out jannb, and thanks for the clarification about feeder size and supplementation. I really don't think it's eggs as she's so young and thin, but installing a laying bin couldn't hurt so I'll give that a try. I really think that the problem is that she is dehydrated. Is...

Chameleon Info: Your Chameleon - Female Veiled Chameleon, Est. Age 3-4 months, I've had her for about two weeks. Handling - I handle her as little as possible; sometimes (no more than once every few days) I move her under the dripping area. Feeding - I feed her 5-6 small/med crickets a day. I...

New Female Veiled Chameleon Owner Here

I just installed a combo temp/humidity gauge under the basking light. When I saw it was at 90F I shut it off. I just have the UVB light going now. Low 80s F is actually really good because it's about that temp here during the day, now that we're in the in between seasons time. You want to keep...

New Female Veiled Chameleon Owner Here

That's along the lines of what I was thinking too. I'm just a worrywart I guess. I'll keep an eye out for any color changes or restlessness in the coming months and make sure that I'm ready for egg laying. Thanks again for the help guys. Also, one of the posts above suggests that females...

New Female Veiled Chameleon Owner Here

Thanks for the replies. I watched your video Dez, and I checked your links jannb, and I feel like I definitely learned a lot. Here's a picture for reference. Sorry for cell phone quality and the uncooperative pose; she really doesn't like being handled (which doesn't bother me; I know that they...

New Female Veiled Chameleon Owner Here

Hello all, I'm new to the forums and looking for some help. I recently bought a female veiled chameleon from a pet store (not the best, I know) and I've been reading about laying bins and females becoming egg bound (scary stuff). She isn't fully grown yet, so it's not something I'm concerned...
