going to buy a new cham tomorrow or sunday - need help/input

I've finally gotten over the passing of my Kukui (even though i still cry at times) and now I'm getting depressed not having a cham. I talked to a few local SoCal owners (you know who you are - thanks!) so I feel more prepped for the climate out here. However, I am going to be buying my first...

    HELP finding jacksons on Oahu

I second Manoa falls arboretum. I used to live in manoa Valley, off Oahu rd and we had them in our trees alllll the time. It's what started my passion for chams. We went hiking up at the arboretum frequently and could see tons of them. if someone knows how to climb bamboo, I suggest finding...

    Your Next Chameleon?

We have a real "ghetto" misting system. He put a timer on the hose and attatched the hose to a sprinkler and then hung that over where Kukui's cage was. It works out pretty well, actually. The timer is a minute timer, so it's very customizable.

    Your Next Chameleon?

I said Panther because my boyfriend promised me a Nosy Faly, but I think a veiled will probably be a closer bet, since I really really really really really REALLY miss my Kukui (a male veiled), who died last week. And then, once I get more experience, a quad. I've owned Jackson's before and I...

My beloved Sniper has passed... :(

I had a similar thing happen with my dear Kukui - he was fine three hours previous and then, I come home and he was gone. When they are ready to go, they don't let us know and they do it with as much dignity as they can muster. he was truly a beautiful chameleon and I hope you rest easy, knowing...

    Male/Female?

what about Leona? It's a feminized version of Leon. And probably my favorite female name in the entire world.

    A Tribute to Padre

Oh Jann, I am so so sorry for your loss. You are such a fantastic mom to all your chams and I know Padre passed, happy and satisfied, without a want in the world. He is busy frolicking with all your other chams (and, hopefully, with my Kukui) up across the rainbow bridge.

    Find and identify the chameleon

hahaha, I have actually done something similar when I raised Jackson's. We would freak out, grab a cricket and hold it out and WOULDN'T YOU KNOW they were right next to our hand. Scared me every time, but it was hilarious every time as well.

Kukui, the best lil veiled ever

we buried Kukui yesterday, in the park right next to my house. He's buried at the top of the hill and overlooks this beautiful green field with these gorgeous trees everywhere. The laughter of children in the playground filter through the leaves and the morning sun shines directly on his resting...

Kukui, the best lil veiled ever

Kukui died today. He was about a year and a half old. I brought him inside, right inside our front door, because it was supposed to be the low 90's today. Well, my boyfriend's father kept the front door open all day, no AC, and it hit about 110 where we are. We came back home after seeing...

    uvb lamp blinding my cham

I actually heard a similar thing at my pet store, but they made it seems like THEY (the store) are phasing out the tubes, not the company.

Cham climbing down to bottom of cage?

Actually, most people recommend against substrate because it could cause impactions. Figure he aims for a cricket crawling around down there, gets some coco fiber stuck in his belly. He can't digest it, it starts to get plugged up, etc etc. Not only that, but it could cause bacteria to grow if...

    so nervous!

Kukui is being shipped across country today via SYR and I admit, I am slightly nervous. My boyfriend assured me that he will be home to receive him and the fedEx guy said that they have it down to an art and that the fedex guys in San Diego are so used to receiving reptiles that it won't bother...

    Misting System for Veiled Cham

regarding the timer issues, I had the Monsoon for a while and noticed the same thing. BUT, if you just buy a wall timer, set it for what you need and THEN plug in the monsoon, it works like a champ. Mine only broke when a drunk friend sat on it. And by sit, I mean she missed the chair that was...

    More cham shipping questions

I know, I know. I've asked about a dozen questions about shipping my cham, but as my ship date is two and a half weeks away, I'm getting anxious. I am shipping out my year old male Veiled. I have my questions down at the bottom, but a bit of explanation to go with them before. I got my box...

    cham dancing

It's a natural movement to mimic the leaves moving in the trees, or so I've read. Someone correct me if I am wrong, though!

    New Baby Sugar Glider!

I have my beautiful boy, Yogi. You will fall in love! I do reccomend getting another, as they are social animals. Yogi had a mate, but when she died he refused to get along with any other gliders, so he's by himself now. Also, Yogi loves any dead crickets or mealworms that aren't fed to kukui in...
