    New Nosy Faly Baby!

Its actually a diff cham. After the general concensus was female, I went to the vet and the vet said 100% female. Which confused me because I had gone to LLL, picked out a male (according to my boyfriend, who is waaayyy better at sexing than me) and we picked up a female at the store a few days...

    New Nosy Faly Baby!

Not sure - got it from LLL, so whoever their breeder is. I kinda don't want to know, so it will be a surprise as to how it turns out!

    New Nosy Faly Baby!

    New Nosy Faly Baby!

I'll go try to take some now. The vet said it was hard because he could see a bulge at the sides of the tail, where the hemipenes would sit, but from the base, he was uncertain. He does show a lot of blues one day - and I mean the bars are all blue, but then other days he can be almost mauve in...

    New Nosy Faly Baby!

We still don't know if it's a boy or girl yet (even the vet said he couldn't give a 100% answer). We are debating between a few names: Googlie, Gump, Jenny and Bubba (Forrest Gump is my fav movie - can you tell??).

    feel good about my husbandry

I've always slightly doubted my husbandry because I never have anyone to compare it to in real life - just everyone on the forums. I finally brought my baby nosy faly to the vet today. We went to Dr. Cecil in La Mesa after I read a few extremely positive reviews about him both on here and on...

Nosy Mitsio cross with Nosy Faly?

Honestly? it's your pet. You do what you want to do, re: breeding, haters be damned. If they want purebreds, they can breed purebreds. if you want crosses, you breed crosses. We shouldn't be forcing our personal "breeder views" on each other. I think a Faly/Mitsio cross could be potentially...

    Outdoor supplement use!?!?

I've kept chameleons outside for years when I lived in HI and just use the repashy multi-use supplement. It's what was reccomended to me when i first started so I just stuck with it.

Help Me Decied Between A Veild and A Jacksons

I've had both. I, personally, like the Jackson's a bit more, but that's because they remind me of my hometown (Honolulu). Overall, Veileds are easier to raise, but Jackson's are so stinkin' cute!!!

    Under the chin sexing?

It did mention that the chin thing is only certain locales, although it didnt mention which ones. That's why I'm hoping someone has some more info. What about girl with no red? Have you noticed that?

    Under the chin sexing?

So, I happened to be thumbing through a book at LLL the other day and say something interesting. Evidently, with panthers, if you check under the chin, males will be gray-green or otherwise "colorless", while females will show vibrant reds. I checked out the sexing panthers thread and two other...

    How To Sex Baby Panthers

That's really interesting - I read that in a chameleon book I saw at LLL the other day. The book mentioned that it was an easier way to gauge sex than the hemipenal bulge. I didn't put much trust into that, but it's interesting that someone else has used that method to some success as well.

My new Nosy Faly! need name ideas!

And my boyfriend just confirmed that LLL actually sent us the wrong cham. He looked at a picture that he took of the one we picked out when he got home late last night and is comparing it to my pics - and the one we picked out is differently marked. There were two baby falys in the cage, he...

My new Nosy Faly! need name ideas!

I didn't see a bulge, either, but he's only about 3.5 inches long (same length as my middle finger), if that, so it's real tricky to tell. But there is a TON of red under the arms - like a huge swath of it - and he was showing some blues earlier, which is why I'm leaning male, just because of...

My new Nosy Faly! need name ideas!

photo 2 by indianteardrops, on Flickr photo 1 by indianteardrops, on Flickr Here's our new baby Faly! But I need help thinking of a name! My boyfriend mentioned how the red rain look like chicken pox, so I'm thinking Pox or Plague or Mercutio, since Mercutio's final line in Romeo and Juliet...

    Is this a veiled chameleon??

it's def. a male veiled and def. something not right. it is hard to tell if that's MBD or a bad camera angle, but also, since his crest seems to be leaning back, I'd wager something's wrong. I'd think that someone wasn't taking good care of him and tried to pawn him off on your girl so they...

First grasshoppers - I drop the container

hahaha, reminds me of when I dropped my dubias! I am absolutely terrified of roaches - crickets, fine. mosquitos, fine. spiders, fine. But you get me near roaches and I'm terrified. I was gingerly feeding them to my chameleon, by using a pair of very very very very long tongs and holding the...
