    Machu & Pechu

Okay, sounds great! I would love to get a mistking, but I'd rather stick with my $7 pump sprayer for now. How old are they??

    Empty 15 gallon terrarium!

crested gecko! I don't have one but I am slowly becoming obsessed. It's only a matter of time before I get one :) Although-since I don't have one and need to do some more research before I dive in, I'm not sure if this is the correct enclosure for one or not..

    Panther with "Puffy" Eyes

His eyes kind of look like he just has some extra skin around his eyes. I think my chameleon's eyes are extra large compared to some others, but he's a healthy growing boy and doesn't have a problem seeing. As long as his poop looks good, he is eating well, and no problems that you can see I...

    Bed 3 hours early?

When does it get dark outside where you live? I know I had the lights going out at 8 and when it was getting dark outside around 6 I would notice my cham going to bed around then even though his lights would be on afterwards. I also noticed that I moved his plant in his enclosure and he started...

    Machu & Pechu

Looking great! I'm sure you know, but just to make sure (because I couldn't tell from the pics), you are using a reptisun linear tube for UVB right? Also, I saw an analog thermometer in the cage..these can be very unreliable so I would recommend getting a digital one if you don't already have...

    Ambilobe X Nosy Be

I actually think crosses are very interesting as far as colors go. If you ever were to breed, just be sure that whoever you sell the babies to know the correct cross so they don't breed thinking they are 100% ambilobe. Have fun watching the colors develop and make sure to post some pics!! :)

    total cage cleaning????

I usually clean up dead leaves and poop as I see them, but this weekend I decided to remove all of the plants and really clean well at the bottom and I also changed the soil in the plants(mostly because I was trying to get rid of gnats) and I also cleaned off the river rocks I have on the soil...

    Help!

Usually looking at the vent area is the best way, but from your description I would say male. Normally females stay gray/peachy/green color. Sometimes show some red when fired up but I've never seen one with blue. Of course this is not a definite answer, but time will tell!

    UVB upgrade ?

you should stick with the 5.0. I know some people (including myself) have successfully used 10.0 but 5.0 is the more widely used. Just make sure you get the linear tube UVB. Reptisun is the way to go.

    24x24x48 and Reptisun 10.0

I don't have a reptibreeze, but I have the 4x2x2 lllreptile cage and I use a 10.0. It works really well for me. I put it at an angle towards the back half of the cage with the basking in the middle(slightly closer to the front) I have a pothos, schefflerra, many vines and fake plans for coverage...

    Chameleons Possess Weatherproof, Ballistic Tongues

Congrats, Chris. Very interesting article! Has there been any research on how the temperature affects digestion in chameleons? I'm guessing the same as other reptiles, but maybe they can tolerate colder temperatures and still digest efficiently better than others since their tongue is affected less?
