    gutloading dubias?

I agree that you won´t need that many if you only feed them from time to time. I started with about 50 of which only 7 or so were adult about 3 months ago and i do not even use any heating but keep them at room temperature. Well, by now i have about twice as many as in the beginnig if not more...

    Greetings Fellow Cham Keepers!

Hello, the cage itself looks okay but you´ll need to get much more plants and branchen in there so he can climb and hide. Also he needs to be able to reach the top in order to get to warmer places and regulate his temperature which may be the reason he´s dark (he wants to absorb as much heat as...

Another thought: maybe you overfed him? Many chams won´t eat after they were fed too much for a longer period. Do you regularly feed other feeders than just crickets? Some chams would appearingly also not eat if they always get the same feederes, which is quite reasonable i think.

Sounds great! Unfortunately i only had spanish for one year, which was about 3 years ago and i´ve never used it since, french is even 5 years or so in the past :D But back to topic: I still think that it´s better to exchange one side or the front of a glass cage with a mesh-frame. It´s simply...

Hello, i unfortunately don´t get what the baby-food thing means :( But simply giving him calcium if he already gets some every day doesn´t make much sense to me. He should have enough calcium so the problem could be that he can not use it because he does not have enough Vit D3 which is needed to...

    few questions

So sorry for your loss... Unfortunately once a cham is seariously sick it´s improbable they will survive. Those guys can hide away illness very good.

That´s right. Some people even succesfully build enclosures from styrofoam or styrodur which is in most cases covered with this grout-like glue which is normally used in the bathroom to fix tiles. You simply need to make sure it´s waterproof and stable.

No that´s not what i meant to say. Those foggers simply nebulize the water so the drops are very very tiny and the cham can inhale them into it´s lungs. The drops created by a mist system are way bigger and will not cause this problem.

As far as i know those foggers are not suited for chams as they create such small drops of water that the cham can actually inhale them which then often causes illness. Misting systems are better.

Well maybe i articulated myself badly. I didn´t want to say that it´s impossible to keep chams in glass terrariums. I just wanted to say that it creates risks that a (part) screen cage does not. I personally prefer screen cages with 2-3 sides covered with cork, depending on which species is...

    Hey!

Ask for a giant spider first so they´ll be happy when you say a chameleon would do :D

I didn´t want to "bully" anybody or something. If it feels like it i thin it´s due to my lack of knowledge of the english language and i´m sorry for that. I would still recommend a bigger cage as it´s simply better for your cham. It´s also well known that chameleons need a lot more ventilation...

    Greetings Fellow Cham Keepers!

First: I agree that there should not be any light or something at night. You should get rid of the compact bulb, many of them are known to cause eye problems. Get a 5.0 linear bulb from arcadia or exo terra instead. How did you try to feed/water him and wih what kind of feeder?

That would be quite a pity...

    Hey!

Whether your cham becomes aggressive or not is kind of an individual thing, even if males are most likely to do so. It´s also a matter of how you treat them, if you disturb them too often and handle them too much especially in the beginning, they often feel like they have to defend themselfs...

There are also people who keep Veileds in groups of 5 animals in cages which are way smaller than this in order to produce babies to make profit. You would still not recommend this i guess? I absolutely underline that veileds need a lot of fresh air to stay healthy so you need to have a well...
  19. lumbasammler

    Hey!

Okay so here i go: I assume you want to get a male so your cage should be about 160cm high, 100cm wide and 70cm deep, bigger is always better :) The cage should be made from wood with 2/3 of one side+the top completely mesh. You need to make the cage waterproof with e.g. epoxide resin, but you...

Seems like temps are similar to those around here in Germany, where are you from? This also means you should be well with the wooden cage with 2/3 of one side+ top completely mesh because many people around here have those and it works well. You need to make sure to make the wood waterproof...
