Update: I got off work and he ate all the crickets in the cAge and is completely shedded, now he's sleeping like a baby:)
But my main question; I just put some orange slices and shredded carrots in my cricket keeper along with the normal fluckers Gurkhas food and hydration stuff, dies that...
I'm in the same boat I got my baby veiled yesterday and I've been watching him constantly and on these forums non-stop making sure everything is perfect.
My guy looks about the same size as yours and they told me he was three months, but who knows if they knew what they were talking about, I...
Well today my cham hissed at me for the first time, and I know they hiss i know they lunge but it still scared the @&$@ out of me!
And he's only 3 months old=x
I can only imagine how this is gonna be when he's older lol
There were some in there as big as his head that I took out as soon as I noticed him but I'd say maybe half the distance between his eyes longer than the distance between his eye
Also I noticed he's starting to shed around his feet so I think that might have something to do with him not eating yet
First off, will he eat crickets if they are slightly to large for him(it's all they had) or are they that picky?
Now the real question, my veiled is 3 months old and as of right now I just let 10-15 crickets go in his cage and let him do his thing, he"ll hunt down two or so at a time then...
Hahah
I had one other question, how much handling is to much handling?
I had him out earlier running around on me and bed for about 5-10 minutes but he started to turn brownish so I put him up
I just got my baby veiled Cham yesterday:D
I have a dripper and mist him 5 times a day or so
But I never really see him drink except when I first put him in his setup.
Should I see him drink, or am I just overly paranoid?
Should I change the water in my mister/dripper daily? Or use what's in it till it runs out?
Also what do you guys have at the bottom of your cages? I saw some reptile carpet or something at the store the other day, I have paper towels now
Thanks a bunch guys
Also I Plan to mist his cage about 5 times a day, but when I have misted his cage the water only seems to stay there for 5-10 minutes I have a dripper almost constantly dripping(it seems it's either off, drip after drip, or constant flow) but that only really seems to get a small portion of his...
I just bought my baby veiled chameleon today.:D
And I was wondering how many medium crickets/mealworms and such should I feed him at a time?
And he has a pretty big cage compared to his size, and I was wondering if he'd be able to find his food alright?.....Well as I was typing this he...
Another question,
If I lay my foliage across his branches and vines will he simply walk over it?
I ask because I feel like Alot of his walking space on his vines is being taken up with foliage draped over it
Ok another question I thought of as I'm laying in bed,
I know they like the dark when they sleep so I'll turn all his lights off And of course my light, but I like to sleep with my tv on a low volume, will this little bit of noise or light from my tv affect his sleeping?
I'm so excited to...
Ok well these are all questions I'm posting as they come to me, I've done Alot of research so I dont want you guys to think I'm to lazy to research stuff on my own and just want info spoon fed to me, I just want varied opinions.
So I bought a humidity and temp gauge I adjusted my light to get...
What are you guys feeling on substrate? I know most people are against it but the people at the store were pushing it, and all there chams enclosures have it.
