carnivore care... anyone use this before?

Yes, like a q-tip but longer and with a wooden stalk. A tongue depressor would work also, but would be harder to work around as it blocks off much more of the mouth.

carnivore care... anyone use this before?

Feldman is a solid little chunk of chameleon now. He is 12.5" + now at approximately 14 months old. I mix Prozyme, a digestive enzyme in with the C.C. My Vet set me up with a ball tipped needle and syringe for feeding. This insures that the food gets in the stomach without any chance of...

Having a meter also helps me with placement of limbs and perches. I try to position the upper branches and vines where they get around 35 micro watts of UVB.

carnivore care... anyone use this before?

He doesn't enjoy it, but he doesn't run when he sees me coming. Feldman used to try climbing up my arm most of the time I had my hand in the cage. He looks at the various bugs I offer but seems to get bored and walks away, usually right over the tops of them. He was back to eating silks and...

carnivore care... anyone use this before?

I assume you using a feeding tube on a syringe? My guy has had a couple of long term bouts with refusing to eat. After a couple of blood tests revealed very high blood sugar levels, the vet feels Feldman has pancreatitis and likely diabetes. He thinks his reluctance to eat could be brought...

    UVB Bulb rating

When you take the measurement at 8" is that through the screen at the top of the cage or is it unobstructed? Are you using a reflector of any kind? I just measured my 5 month old Reptisun 5.0 and had a measurement of 34 microwatts at 8'' through the screen. I use an Arcadia reflector that is...

carnivore care... anyone use this before?

My Vet has had Feldman on it for sometime now. He has his own instructions on the pouch. He said I could refrigerate mixed product for up to 24 hours and unmixed formula in the freezer until ready to use. F has actually been able to put on some weight with it.

    Invasion of privacy!

I have a hunch much of the information gets mined from Facebook. You could have dozens of unused apps monitoring your Facebook account. Select Privacy Settings from the Account tab. Under Apps and Websites select Edit your settings. In Apps you use, click on Remove unwanted or spammy apps...

    can u over do UVB

Two "5"'s will cast as much UVB energy as a 10, although the spread would be different. If you haven't already ready checked it out, this thread has a great deal of info on UVB and reptiles. http://www.uvguide.co.uk/

Do Chameleons have the ability to show affection to their owners?

Wow, is it April already?? I wonder how the flying Hasselblad fared? Besides some pain, looks like the photog could be out a big hunk of change, too.

    UVB for 24x24x48 ReptiBreeze

The 24" DIY fixture would fit. It measures 24 3/4" across and takes two 24" tubes. It has one cord and the tubes have individual switches.
