Your most welcome, and thank you for the kind words, Melric.
It seems people never fully recover from a fire. Things can happen so much quicker than anyone can imagine. Even when everyone gets out safely, it is hard to recover from losing ones irreplaceable treasures such as family pictures...
No
This is incorrect.
It can be. I have been to more than one fire that burned an entire apartment complex to the ground by people with the same attitude. At one of them we found 13 exhausted fire extinguishers laying about. And no, it wasn't an electrical fire.
No, I don't know this. The...
I not only was, but remain a full time, professional firefighter and work in a city of close to 600,000. I also work with code enforcement and have spent time with the fire investigation unit determining C&O. And no, I am not forgetting anything here. I have no idea where you are getting your...
Was it your damper being closed and smoke backing up into to the room or did something catch on fire as well?
It is a terrifying situation to watch as your house is burning and it always seems like the fire dept is taking forever to get there. Glad that you kept a good head and got you and your...
I am writing this from the perspective of being a firefighter/emt for nearly 20 years. Possibly the most important thing you can do to avoid a fire in your reptile area or room is too not overload your electrical outlets. GFCI outlets are good to have if there is water in the area. Extension...

All the Seattle area stores selling the iPad 2 were sold out by Saturday afternoon. I stopped by the local Apple store to play with one and was pretty impressed. Had they had it in stock I think I would have bought one...
Check your plants, there may be poop hung up in the branches that you are not seeing.

This is correct.
The 10.0 will have twice the UVB output that the 5.0 does.
If you double the distance from lamp to the highest area in the cage where your cham basks, he will not be getting half of the UVB, but only 1/4 of it (inverse square law). A UVB meter is your friend here.
Many people will by albums just for the jackets and then frame them. There is a market for jackets on ebay. Some are worth a surprising amount of money.
I don't have a new tube to measure, but I just checked my current tube for you. From 8", with a reflector and not going through a screen, I am getting a reading of 61 microwatts at the center of the tube using a Solarmeter 6.2. Keep in mind all reflectors are not created equal. Meters will not...
