wingless fruit flies for baby veiled?

What is the age /size of the baby? Flies won't be a great staple but good to have as an addition to crickets.

Clutch Update-those wanting to breed please read

Great thread to start! I've had my share of reptile babies in the past and man can they go through the crickets & your time to care for them. I recently babysat 65 Panther babies for a friend & 4 tubs to clean, plants, feed, mist...time consuming indeed. Those wanting to breed should be...

They are very good at replacing defective items. I sent email directly from their website and received contact the next day. A week later my new bulbs arrived.

    New Owner needing help.!!

You mention a heat bulb only, do you have another bulb as well? You should have a UVB one also. Sandra's info is very good, do take the time to read it all. Can you post a full picture of your set up?

    Trixxis' new uvb light

With the style ballast you have with your new UVB, there is no fixture or reflector pushing the light downward - if you are able to some how get a reflector above it, this may lighten up the enclosure and ensure your cham is getting enough UVB exposure. I wonder if with your old fixture in...

    Need help.. Cham dying

I agree with what has been said already. Keep him well hydrated, more importantly. I do not see any dripper/misting set up for him. Another observation, IMO based on pictures showing size of him, that cage may be too big and too bare which will not make him feel comfortable & this will...

You know you're a chameleon addict when....

I'm crazy too I guess... I do this every night almost as I share my computer room with them and I'll turn around, hall light shining in the door way, and just look in amazement at their pjs! Plus, I do just about everything else mentioned so far. When picking out plants at the nursey and the...

Should you be able to see ribs?

Variety is the key :) Waxworms will help put weight on, but you don't want to feed in excess. Hornworms, silkworms are very good nutritionally(protein, calcium, other good vits.), keep up with the locusts. You can add flying insects in for additioanl variety & treats (house flies, moths, etc.)...

Video of Camille devouring a hibiscus flower

Very cool video :) Had to watch it a couple times, she sure enjoyed that flower! I have a male panther that goes crazy on his plants, I usually have to replace the plant about every 6 weeks for him

    Ficus in bad shape

Ficus will drop leaves when their condition changes and start growing new ones. Give it a good watering, don't have excess water in the pot though. Don't allow it to get bone dry between waterings either. Avoid moving from outside to inside, etc as it will continue to attempt to adapt to the...

    Chameleons stolen

:eek:OMG!!! What is wrong with some people??!!! I am sorry to hear of the losses for both of you. I really hope that you get them back some how. Chameleons may be "cool" to people who don't know about them, but what they don't know is really going to hurt those poor chams. I...

    Would this work???

If you are thinking it is Cedar, that is not a recommended choice of wood to be placing near reptiles.

Haven't found a Western supplier , but Canadian Feeders does have FF - but not flightless. I ordered 1 culture 2 weeks ago to give a try and it's still going.

    What should I do?

You say you have tried other worms? What type? She needs to be eating more than 2 crickets a day, and also needs a variety of food. Hornworms, silkworms, butterworms & wax worms as treats. You could try house flies, moths - flying insects usually trigger a great feeding response.

    Cup Feeding?

Cup feeding, is when you place feeders in a container (helps ensure dustings stay on feeders & you can control what is being eaten or keep track). You can either hold the container for your cham or some people chose to have it placed inside the enclosure to stay. You would have to ensure when...

    BUG HELL....Help!

I know the bug suppliers within Alberta all keep their superworms in good old dirt ( a little moist but not to point of molding). I never agreed with this, as this is how they'd ship to stores & the worms would be sold. How good of a gut load is dirt?? My supplier ships with potato and then...
