I think those are "German cockroach" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_cockroach
They are light brown and small. The second one in the picture has the same size of another that has egg, so, I guess that is the adult size.
Bye for now
Hello:
Thank you, I got the bird house thinking that I always can get a bird in the future but I will try to bring something nice from the States.
Now, I need to solve the food supply issue. I am asking in other part of the forum for ideas about how to start a roaches farm.
Thank you
Hello:
I live in Saudi Arabia. My local pet shops don’t sell live cricket (not even dry crickets) or any other kind of insects. My Chameleon is very thin. I hunt flies (not easy to find and catch). The employee from a cafeteria (yes, from a cafeteria) provides me with small roaches, (I...
Hello:
Five weeks ago, I bought a Veiled Chameleon. In the Pet Shop they told me that the chameleon was 4 months old, but they also give me so many wrong information that I cannot trust them anymore.
The chameleon measures about 4 inches long without the tail, but he is very thin...
You are correct; I just read the same thing here in the forum.
Today, I will return the black bulb and get a UVB light instead. That pet shop gave me so much bad information. Good that I found this forum.
Bye for now
Thank you Kate:
I keep the house at 74F all the time, sometimes a little warmer, but never below that. I bought the “moon light” because I read somewhere that those
good for chameleons, perhaps I do not need it.
You are correct, it is a ficus!, I check for picture online, the leaves...
Hello:
Olivia, you are right. In addition to what you mentioned, it is costly, because the mats are disposable and I need to change them regularly. Perhaps, this is just another bad recommendation by my PetShop. There is a new PetShop in town; I will try to visit it soon.
Here are two...
Hello:
It is not dirt; it is a kind of carpet make with coconut and other natural fibers. The packet has several large pieces; they are thick and soft, it supposes they are special for reptiles.
Thank you for ask,
Bye for now
Hello:
I found a Jasmine; it is in the list of safe plants for chameleons according to the next link http://www.flchams.com/safe_plant_list.asp#j but in other sites it said its berries can be toxic, just to be safe, I will not let it produce berries.
I hope, I did not hurt him too much...
One month ago, when I get the chameleon, I tried to put some “Fly Traps” outside and some fresh fruit (mango, bananas) in the cage and leave the windows open. Believe it or not, here is so hot and dry that any meat, fruit, etc, complete dehydrated ( I am not exaggerating) before any fly go to...
Hello:
The chameleon is Saudi. Saudi Arabia is mostly dessert but here is a large area (like a big Oasis) calls Al Asir. In that part is rainy and there is much vegetation. I will investigate about the temperature over there.
I have an extra stand lamp in the house, I will place the lamp...
I am very upset with the petshop! They give me a bunch of bad recommendations. I am removing the lamp right now.
Usually, I have the cage near the back door. When is not too hot and we have a good shadow, I place the cage outside for 30 minutes. We are in the middle of the summer, the...
Thank you guys:
You confirm my suspicion that force-feeding was a bad idea. As Djfishygillz said, the pert shop set me up with a bad start.
I do have a 50W Red Lamp that is suppose good for reptiles (they sell it to me in the Pet Store). I know they have one call Moon Light (50W dark...
Hello:
I live in Saudi Arabia. Three weeks ago we bought a Veiled Chameleon in the local PetShop (I don’t know his age, he measure like 4 inch without the tail). The Chameleon was healthy and very bright green in the store, but a couple days after we bring it home, he started to change color...
