That is amazing. So glad to here he came back. And awesome idea, lure him in with a lady. :D Makes me wonder how close he was. He was probably watching you look all over for him the whole time. They are masters camouflage, he definitely won that game of hide and seek. He had to give in...:)
Naps during the day are normally signs of illness. Since chams are diurnal animals. Meaning they sleep at night. I am not sure if it is normal after laying eggs though. Seems like that could take some energy.
I dont want to be the barer of bad news but it doesn't sound good for your cham. I would find a good vet and take it in ASAP.
Below is a herp vet connection site.

OK you do have a piglet.:) I do agree 100%, that under our care they eat way more than in the wild. But i have never witnessed a cham eat as much as yours. I have herd of veilds eating a lot but that is a LOT. And yes you are right it can be frustrating sifting through all the info.
Obviously...
COUGH COUGH Chameleons dont over eat. If anything they are fed to fatty of food to frequently. Or to large of insect for the age. Goggles is a young veiled. They eat a lot if im not mistaken, they are growing. Not over eating.
Take it as you want, i own a jacksons and he will never over...
If you are using a mesh cage it will be a little darker. I have mesh on my sides but real screen on the top, works great.
Anyway, because you are using a mesh cage i would use the exact lights you are. The basking is a little hefty for a little jackson though. These guys will over heat real...
That could be another reason he went to bed so early. I have noticed my cham going to bed earlier if he has been stressed from his is being cleaned or something similar.
Was it cloudy out the day he went to bed by chance? And can he see a window from where he is?
My cham has a window he can look out, and chances are if it is cloudy outside regardless of his basking light he will settle in early.
I think you are suppose to keep the grow light up a little higher compared to the 5.0 UVB. Correct me if im wrong.
But i would be more worried about thermal burns on my cham if i were putting different lights in.
interesting... i have herd of something similar with frogs but not humans, regarding the homosexuality. They are finding male frogs with eggs and attraction to other male frogs. But this isnt from chlorine i guess. Its all on this...
OK, that is kind of what i thought. I imagine it would take lot smaller amounts to harm a cham compared to a person. And i do agree, it is nothing that either one of us should be drinking.
I would have liked to saw this thread you are talking about sounds like it could have been interesting...
Is chlorine proven to be bad for chameleons, or is this an extra precaution that we take? Just wondering, i have always tried to make sure i get the water in the bin the night before. So the chlorine will evaporate.
Just curious what is more nutritious a tobacco horn worm, or tomato horn worm? Or are they about the same?
I didnt know there was a different kind of horn worms until today just got my order from great lakes and they were all blue.
Your cham is probably getting big enough for a nice big screen enclosure. As everyone else is going to tell you glass is bad. I HAD the same set up right down to the fan and i know the fan really dries things out. Not the best way to go. Also, these cages have no drainage so unless you aren't...
I thought everyone in Montana lived in a huge house:D
I second the person who said who ever says crap like that in your pms need help, or possibly a life...
When you boil the water, aren't you getting distilled water as a final product? Now this leads to my next questioned. If you are just giving your chameleon distilled water wouldn't it be lacking nutrients and minerals that it should be getting from the water? Not all minerals are bad. For...
