    cham consistently brown?

If he's only been in there for a few days, you can expect him to be stressed. Give him a couple of weeks to settle down, and he should color up eventually!

    How Panthers differ from Veileds

The best thing to do is work on handling a littlw more, which is what I'm doing right now. With regular handling, most animals learn to tolerate it a lot better. So far my veiled is handling it pretty well! I just use food to coax him out![emoji23]

    Other Reptile Species?

Is it OK if I list my non-reptile pets as well?☺ Besides my veiled, I have 2 leopard geckos, 1 white's tree frog, 2 rough green tree snakes, 1 crested gecko, 2 scarlet millipedes, several different species of poison dart frogs, 3 moon jellyfish, a betta, and a cat!

    How Panthers differ from Veileds

That's funny, mine actually does the same! He will gape and everything, but instead of biting he just headbutts me. He just gets angry whenever I'm near him!

    How Panthers differ from Veileds

I wonder if that's true. I've never had a panther, but my veiled is extremely territorial. Unless I have food, I'm not even allowed NEAR his cage! But as far as I know, care for both species is nearly identical.

    Are Bandaids OK?

If it's small, it will probably heal on its own. Just make sure it's nice and clean and he should be fine. If it doesn't start closing up in about a week, I would say a vet visit is in order.

Benefits of carotenoids in veiled chameleons

Hey everyone! Just wondering if anyone has any information on the benefits of using carotenoid supplements in a veiled chameleon's diet. Are there any noticable changes in color using carotenoids? Any significant health benefits? Thanks in advance.

    Sick panther chameleon please help

Start supplementing her food with either phos. free calcium every feeding and multivitamin 2x a month or Repashy Calcium Plus every feeding. What you are describing does sound like MBD, and it is usally brought on by a lack of calcium/vit. D3. However, I would also reccomend a vet visit just to...

    Footage of calyptratus in Yemen

I realize this is an old thread, but awesome videos! I sometimes have a hard time finding wild footage of chameleons, and I'm extremely interested in their wild habitats and behaviors, so these videos are like a pot of gold to me lol.

    Unhappy cham

You've only had him for about a week, so I wouldn't worry too much. They need time to acclimate, and that could take a little while. Just make sure he has the proper setup and he's being fed, and you should be fine.

Decent looking cham? look like a healthy baby?

Congrats on your new chameleon! He looks fine! I was also nervous when I first got mine, but as long as you've done your research and pay attention to your chameleon, you should be fine.

Why are Chameleons harder than other reptiles?

I agree, the more research you do, the easier keeping your cham will be. Once everything is set up properly, it's pretty easy to keep them. Prior to supplementation, UVB, etc. chameleons were a rarity in captivity due to their specific requirements, but now (mostly) everything you need for a...

Can veiled chameleon ever get used to you?

That's awesome! I had a tokay gecko as well, though he was extremely aggressive and I only handled him when cleaning his cage. But I think that if you're patient enough, especially if your chameleon has a calm disposition like that, you will probably be able to handle your chameleon. Sometimes...

Can veiled chameleon ever get used to you?

My chameleon hand feeds extremely well, to the point where he associates me with food ENTIRELY. He will shoot his tongue AT MY FACE and HANDS!!! Yet he his still somewhat difficult to handle. Whenever I reach into his territory without food, he gets kind of apprehensive, but I think he'll come...
