Snipe are a REAL animal. And I have shot one. They are very skittish and hard to get a shot on, the skill involved in hunting them is where the term "sniper" comes from. It's actually a little shorebird. Just a fun fact.
Oh man, he's a big'un. I almost got one of those and then I decided I wanted a Nosy Be instead. BTW, how's the blue on elegon coming along, Hawkeye's blue is really developing nicely, he seems a lot bluer in his relaxed colors since I got him.
He had been in the same spot for 2 hours after the lights came on and didn't go to bask. And then, the mister came on only an hour after the lights come on. He usually runs from that though. Which is kind of what has me concerned, the fact that he wouldn't move.
So I live in florida and usually, my house doesn't drop below 78 at night. Because its always warm here, my heater was not on, but last night, the outside temp dropped to around 60. And I think my chams ambient temps might have gone below 70. He's just a little 3 month old panther. Anyway, this...
I also have a second one of those eyetoy cams. I took the IR filter out of it a long time ago and rigged up some battery powered IR led spotlights on it to make it night vision as well I'm still thinking about if I am going to hook it up and how.
I harvested them from my backyard where they grow in vast amounts. When I first potted them, a couple fronds died but now they are doing great. Hawkeye is only a tiny 3 month old and he can climb on them without a problem, however he rarely goes that low in the cage, he rarely leaves the ficus...
The only money I spent was 5 bucks for the app, but there are similar free apps that have a bit lower quality streaming. You can get a webcam with much betrer resolution than this one for like 20 to 30 bucks now a days. And thanks, here's a full pic of my cage. I figured I'll only have one Cham...
If I had a dedicated Cham room or the I had Jim in the fish room, I might make it public, but it's in my bedroom and I just think that it would creep me out.
However, I think you might enjoy setting up a cam and watching your own chams even more.
I was looking at a box of random projects and stuff and i found an old "eyetoy" usb camera from my old PS2. So it gave me the idea to set up a webcam on my cham cage. So i installed the drivers on my computer and found a good program to run it. Now I can see whats my little guy is up to from my...
I do love nosy Bes with darker blue barring and lots of yellow on the face and eyes, however I really don't like the red and it seems that the ones with lots of barring and yellow are more prone to red. Even so, I have seen pics of WC Nosy Bes that fit this image, but as you know, the offspring...
