Mine comes on 40 minutes after my lights, I like to have th cage warmed up before the water comes on. Because one time, I had it come on right before the lights, and he got really cold and he wouldn't move until I picked him up and moved him under his basking light, and that morning, my house...
I have an aquazamp, but its on a 2x2x4, so it doesn't get much water to the bottom. For this reason, I still use my sprayer to spray the foliage on the bottom and water the plants. If you get the sprayer that has a nozzle like in this pic, it produces a much finer mist.
the aquarium heater would work, however, I personally was too paranoid of bacteria or mildew growing in my AZ reservoir to put a heater in there. But, my house is quite warm anyway.
My nosy be is nuts about black soldier flies, just order a tub of the biggest Phoenix worm size and let them pupate and every day for a few weeks you'll have black soldier flies for your Cham.
I've I've always been a true blue nosy be fan but lately, I've developed a real liking for pink panthers. Unfortunately though, I haven't seen a lot of them on here. So if you have one, throw up some pics!
Most terrestrial animals do have waterproof skin with the exception of most amphibians. Humans do. But what you are witnessing is the hydrophobic properties of their skin. On hydrophobic surfaces, water's adhesive properties do do not apply because the surface is made of nonpolar molecules. This...
When I first got my little guy, he patrolled his cage constantly exploring, since he was only a tiny 3 month old in a heavily planted 2x2x4. But in about 3 days, he chilled out and just assumed what I consider to be a normal laid back Cham lifestyle. I think when you notice a similar change of...
I can't really help you there. I have good local sources. But yeah, my guy was was eating like 25 quarter inchers a day, which are the same price as large for me. It was getting kind of ridiculous. Then I moved him up to 1/2-3/4 inchers and he only ate about 10 of those a day at the most, it got...
IMO, rep cal with D3 is has too much D3 for a healthy Cham with good lighting. I have been using Repashy SuperCal HyD twice a month on my juvenile panther with excellent results. (Also twice a month) but I also have a reprising 5.0 T5HO that he sits under a lot. FYI, the SuperCal HyD contains...
As far as nutrition, the fruit flies should be fine just until Tuesday, but make sure to feed him a LOT. I know baby chams can have diporportionately large appetites and they have high metabolisms compared to adults. And obviously, fruit flies have very little substance to them.
