Just got my first chameleon, Pocket, a veiled chameleon, the 1st of June. Absolutely the best choice for a pet I ever made. I was gonna get an iguana but I'm glad I didn't, Pocket is much more entertaining.
I actually planted my ficus in an 8" plastic pot and sat that in the cage. I put reptile bark over the soil and around the base of the pot. Haven't had any drainage problems so far.
I actually just got a screen cage for LLL about two weeks ago. I ordered an 18" x 18" x 36" cage for my veiled along with a substrate tray for the bottom and a ficus. It all came to just over $100 shipped, which was about what the pet stores here were asking just for a cage that size. The...
You know, it is frustrating. I just got my first veiled on the 1st and they said the same thing. Come the 1st of July, Pocket will be in a screen enclosure and I have to get the tube light to replace the coil.
