A friend of mine has a Calyptratus male, 9 years old now.
I saw F. Pardalis in the wild in Mscar, I think they live 1 or 2 years.
Most of females, died very young after laid.
Cites isn't for USA or Germany or others, Cites are for all world member of Convention of Washington.
C. Calyptratus are in Cites, like major of chams excluse Rhampholeon.
I keep all my chameleons in all-screen cages, I think this is the best solution.
But you must considerer that I have a cool and humid reptile-room.
I kept in the past Cristatus too, now I have Pfefferi, Laterispinis and some Calummas in this cages without problems.
All my chameleons love spiders!
Calummas and Trioceros too. Sometimes I catch him in my reptile room and give it, small spiders to baby and bigger to the adult and they go crazy.
I never had problems in years.
Brad, my friends have this

but I don't love it because I prefer 2 temps for night and day for chameleons.
cainschams, very nice Cristatus you have!
I kept this species in the past, I prefer orizontal cage, all screen for a good ventilation. If I can suggest you, they prefer cage with more and more plants than yours, they are the most shiny chameleons I had.
