@Andee Thank you! She's very sassy and will hiss if I try and kiss at her... so I make baby voices and kissy faces and then she hisses haha. Then I just do one droplet at a time. I will try and get it farther back into her mouth. I wish there were more info on the interwebs for stuff like this...
@kelly_girl199 I 100% agree with you, you need to get him a UVB bulb. You are not giving him enough sun exposure and he could develop MBD very easily and get extremely sick. Get one ASAP.
That being said, I typically find my chameleon won't eat of he's not warm enough or if he's mad about...
I'm so excited for you!! <3 :D In terms of how much you should feed the baby, when I raised my Bames I would feed him once in the morning and once at night. I'd let him eat as many crickets as he wanted and would hand feed him. Also it's recommended that you give your cham crickets dusted with...
@kinyonga I have confirmed now that she has MBD now actually. I only need help with the dosage. I currently do not have access to calcium gluconate hence why I'm using calcium carbonate. While it is true that calcium gluconate is more easily absorbed, calcium carbonate can also be absorbed quite...
Update: I gave baby Rose two drops of 25mg/mL CaCO3 solution! It was very easy as she is very timid and hisses so I placed the syringe in her mouth and gently dropped about two drops in her mouth.
Additionally, I do agree with @Andee... the ankles DO look off and this concerns me, because I also cannot tell if you have a UVB bulb in addition to your basking light. Your chameleon could easily be either too cold or suffering from MBD.
What is her temperature in the terrarium? If it is too cold your chameleon either will not eat, or may not have enough energy to shoot their tongue out properly.
I really do want to be kind and say I am sorry for your loss, but I personally think you need to prepare more before you try to own...
Hello friends!
So a quick intro to the situation:
So recently I purchased a mate for my veiled chameleon Bames. She's a four month old baby who I named Rose (note that I don't plan on letting them mate until she's a few months older). I purchased her from Petland, which I typically really...
@broderp I appreciate the critique, but it's not harmful for chameleons unless they eat excessive amounts of dirt. I always keep an eye on him (including his bowel movements), as of course, it concerned me at first, but he's fine. :) Some people also believe small amounts of dirt may also...
I really would like to breed them, and thus need at least a breeding pair to start. Please PM me if you or anyone you know has any!
Additionally, I am from Edmonton, AB.
You're all so welcoming! Thank you! @Billy the Kidd & @Decadancin I try my best but sometimes I can't help myself but flatter Bames a little bit more! Hahaha.
Hey! Your cham was probably stressed due to relocation and is still getting used to everything, especially since he's young still. I wouldn't put a blanket over his terrarium, and definitely don't stop misting! A lot of chams run away from the misting, but it's for his own good and he will learn...
