So I went to my normal petstore (NOT A CHAIN STORE) to re-up on 1/4 crix for my 4 month old Veiled female and of course they are out till tomorrow afternoon (hopefully). All they had were supers, which I have for my big guy, and regular mealworms. The Supers are to big for her but I had to get...
Welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear you have trouble with your cham. Try filling this out so maybe someone can help.
Cage Info:
Cage Type - Describe your cage construction (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?
Lighting - What brand, model, and type of lighting are you using...
Nice pics and great chams! That last pic of Lombardi kinda looks like Kermit the Frog! He looks like he'll be an awesome cham when he grows up. Elwood looks like a brute.
I think female Veileds are great. I just got a new female last week, 4 months old, and she is so chill. She has a totally different attitude than my big mean guy. And she is a pig!
I'm sure plastic sides with sealer would work, the plastic might not be super cheap though :(. Try to keep in mind that ventalation is important too. I saw that the front was mesh but I've never owned a cage that had most the sides are covered. I've seen a few pics of some on here though and...
Hmm....I'm not quite sure how to seal it. I'm sure you could soak it in a water sealant but I 'm not real sure that would be safe for your cham. Let me think about it. I might come up with something. I'm sorry for giving bad news! But your on the right track! I think DIY is so great. Its really...
Unfortunatly when alot of people first come here to ask questions their chams are bad off thanks to good ol' big money petstores.
I have a question about the materials you used for your enclosure. You said you used OSB Plywood. I think this may be a real problem for you. The major...
Chams need to be as high up as you can possibly get them. They like it better when they are above you. This helps to keep stress down, and stress is a major factor in how well your cham does (stress can compromise thier immune system and causes problems with digestion).
DITCH THE SUBSTRATE...
Yeah you need to really watch it on that Calcium w/ D3. Check out this thread. Be warned, LOTS of info here.

I'm no vet but your cham looks to be in pretty good shape. MBD cases do have bulges on they're ankles but they look much worse and often they are also associated with bowed legs.
Its really up to your cham if you and him are gonna get along. My 1yr old Veiled male was the same way when I got him at 4 months old. It took a few months before he didn't see me as a immediate threat. Even now he is wary of me but now I believe he has come to associate me with food so he's...
I didn't really ask why he had it for sale, I just jumped on it. Oh well. At least I got a 10 gallon tank for my Leopard Geckos, I just thought I might get a good light out of the deal too. Thanks for the great info!
I was at a garage sale today and they guy must of had a reptile at one time cause he had a 10 gallon tank and a UVB light fixture for sale. He only asked $20 for both so I bought them. The light fixture, thankfully in a box, is a R-Zilla tropical series Low profile Single Bulb Fixture. It is a...
