I am dealing with this same issue unfortunately. Best way to pick mine up is to shoo him onto a stick with a glove on. Once I get him out he calms down.

Check the back heels. If there is a bump (tarsal spur) then you havd a boy. Also posting pictures would help in determining age. Congrats on your new addiction! *cough* I mean addition.

A heat source is really unnecessary at night unless for some reason your house gets below like 60ish.

Are you using hot or cold water? Warmer water could help.

It's probably just salt. As they don't sweat so it is how they get rid of it.

My little guy has been known to eat some of the same crap I gutload my crickets with such as collared greens. They do like veggies. Definitely good to offer it, though some may not eat it.

Could use some sort of dripper. Also I'm not sure if two 5.0 UVB is necessary. I am currently running one 5.0 and one 2.0 for UVA.

Yeah try living in South Dakota. Kinda sucks cuz it doesn't allow but a couple months of outside time. But my room gets no lower than 60 at night (typically 65 ish) and so I usually don't heat his cage at night

Yeah I got my 4 month in his full sized cage already. But I make sure he is getting what he needs so he does just fine.

My chameleon is about the same age and is similar sized.
