I picked up 1000 crickets, some stick insects to start a colony, some bug burger from Joe at the climbing chameleons stand, and 3 adorable little D. Azureus dart frogs haha
You won't be disappointed, I love my beardy :) every day he eats his fruits and veggies right out of my hand, and loves coming out to hang out and explore
He's only about four feet off the ground, I'll extend it upwards tomorrow and see how he likes it, I'll just have to figure out a way to suspend the lamp higher I suppose. Unless the basking spot can be below the highest point, but that seems like it might confuse him, at least to me
I've set up a small free range for habanero, and he's been spending a couple hours a day in it, but when he's hanging out in it he's Waaaaay more territorial and aggressive towards me if I even enter the room haha. He doesn't care when I'm right next to him while hes in his cage. His free range...
A vet visit is definitely in order if he cant retract it on his own, in the meantime I'd make sure it doesnt dry out, I feel like that would just make matters worse. Sounds like maybe he pulled a muscle, so once its back in I wouldn't be surprised if hes too sore to eat for a little bit while it...
I read the same.thing but felt like it might be exaggerated somewhat...now I'm not so sure, because habanero is only 2.5 months old and he shot it at least two or three inches longer than he is, which is pretty significant for a cham only around 6 or 7 inches long haha
What's the general consensus on the distance chameleons can shoot their tongues in relationship to their overall length? Because I just watched my habanero snipe out a cricket that was definitely further away than his length (snout to tail tip, not vent). I never saw my veiled shoot that far...
I just set up a free range for my 2.5 month old panther today using that same plant from loews and another little vine trained up a ladder lol, he seems to be comfortable in it :)
Probably, I need to pick up dubias to start a colony, and see if they have any tasty worms...and who knows...I might end up with another chameleon! Lol
Hmm, its interesting that they feed on the bug burger... I think I'm going to do an experiment and see if I can get them feeding and breeding on any other gutload. Welp, found my project for the day, besides finishing my homemade cham and bearded dragon enclosures! Lol, updates to come if my...
