    Gutload recipe

Maybe I'm crazy, but since I started using this recipe, my veileds don't nibble at their leaves as much. And maybe I'm reaching a little, but their colors seem a little more intense. Everyone knows how much prettier they can be when they are exposed to natural light outside. I live in OH so it...

    Best way to house crickets

Yah, I'm a little slow on the uptake sometimes as far as doing this little trick from the get go!LOL Better late than never. I love the idea of drilling holes on the bottom too. Learn something new every day, right?! Charging up the drill as we speak. Love a good opportunity to fire up the power...

    Best way to house crickets

We were sooo tired of die-offs too! I don't mind spending on feeders as long as i can get them to live long enough to use them! Seems to help us, so hope it does for anyone else too.:)

    Best way to house crickets

I've always used the egg crates that came with the crickets and just laid them flat in my bin, then, my husband had an awesome idea the last order I got in...instead of laying the egg crates flat, he suggested lining them up vertically. To my amazement, fewer dead ones!

    Gutload recipe

When I first started caring for chams, I gutloaded their feeders daily trying to change up what fruits and veggies I used. Started thinking about how I could make sure that my feeders could be fed to provide the best nutrition possible for my chams. I'm sure I'm not the first person ever to use...

    getting dubias....

Most people who sell dubia will have the cardboard egg flats too. It IS ok to use flats from stores as long as they are baked off which will kill all bacteria. Using these are important for your colony for a few reasons: they provide extra surface area, provide places to hide, and they make it...

    Dubia Roach Tray?

It's true, they can't climb smooth surfaces. They can't bite or fly even though the males have wings. I use a little feeder cup if I'm feeding the nymphs to my smaller chams but if I'm feeding an adult dubia to an adult cham, then I use the rubber tipped feeder tongs. I prefer not to leave any...

    Dubia/Cricket bin clean up crew?

The little black beetles you find in cricket orders are domestic beetles. They put them in there to eat the dead crickets. Harmless. Never heard of the cleaning crew thingamajig. I breed dubia roaches and have never had to use anything like that. Dubia live much longer than crickets therefore...

Basking Light Setup -- Lets Discuss the Best Way to Setup a Basking Spot

I always use a household 60w bulb and have had great success with them. I use a clamp lamp from home depot. Comes in a couple sizes, I use the smaller. If you don't mind putting a hole in you ceiling, then, use a hook to suspend the light and this makes it easier to adjust the distance of the...

Why hasn't he shed? Any help 

If he is a sub-adult then he may have hit a plateau in his growth for a little while and will eat less. Once they hit their adult growth spirt then watch out! Mine will become little eating machines and shed a lot!

    What is the prettiest chameleon?

Male panthers have beautiful coloration even at rest. The colors and markings intensify when they get fired up. Usually the reds under the neck the most. The female panthers, however, are more shades of peach and tan, sometimes brownish, with black showing up when stressed or fired up. Male...

    critisizing my chams are you?

It sounds like you are light years ahead of most girls your age(may I assume high school?). My mom always told me to "Choose your battles". Seems appropriate in many facets of life. I know it can be really really hard to rise above other's ignorance and rudeness...but practice makes perfect...

    Storm in Madagascar.

There is never a reason to say sorry for having an opinion! I appreciate hearing what other people have to offer to any discussion especially done with respect and manners. I try to always value and actually "hear" what others have to say. Thanks for showing me another view point to think about!:)

    Names?

It's kind of like getting a puppy or kitten...wait and see how they look or cute little things they do to spark an idea for a name. I've even been known to change their name if I get the hankerin' to. I'm a girl and I'm allowed to be fickle if I feel like it! LOL:D
