MBD- stands for metabolic bone disease. Chameleons with bowed legged, or what appear to be curvy have MBD. Nice straight limbs are what you want. MBD is irreversible, and left untreated is a slow painful death. But your good. Just supplement correctly, make sure your UVB is replaced when it's...
Taking them to the vet is a good idea. And regularly. Just like you would a child. Plus because everything was so off for so long- you need to just get him checked out to see if any damage was done internally while you were learning. With that being said, if you are lucky and no damage was done...
Do you mid posting a picture? Those colors sound like your chameleon may in fact be a female. Which will never have colors like a male would. They can still be beautiful. Just generally not as bold and colorful.
He means takes awhile to really color up. My panther is six months old and has so much color it's ridiculous, that doesn't mean a chameleon at 6 months without as much color won't eventually have the same, if not more color as my chameleon.
Well I already was a major fan of canvas chameleons, now I'm a GIANT MAJOR fan! Glad every Cham was ok! That is so scary, having been born and raised in Oklahoma just recently moving to Minnesota in January, I am way to familiar with hail/tornados/and devastating storms then I'd like to be...
Great set up! Looks really nice! No worries with the chameleon. He may just be getting ready for bed- take into consideration where he came from. Was there a time change? It may be bed time where he is from. OR he is just adjusting. Honestly, he looks great to me. Not stressed or anything, and...

Fill this out, this will help tremendously. Pictures of your chameleon and enclosure will be beneficial as well when it comes to getting help. Your post was very detailed, but kind of all over the place. This will help it organize the info and...
There are several different causes of gular edema in chameleons. It is a common condition in them. Too much vitamin A supplementation is the most frequent cause. It is recommended to dust crickets and other prey with only plain calcium (no vitamin D3) every day, and to give a multiple vitamin...
Eyes look good (sunk in eyes would indicate deyhydration), nice strait limbs (which would indicate MBD) and nice colors (which would indicate stress) He looks healthy to me. :) What's your set up look like? And I would definitely just place him in his cage and not bother him for several days, if...
Awesome I am on the right track. I never handle my boys unless im taking them outdoors then I always give them a couple worms once outside. Hoping they associate me with sunshine and worms :) AND that makes perfect sense. My Jackson does some major bobbing when I put a caterpillar in his...
Here's the best picture I have. I typically do not photograph sperm of any kind lol I do nothing with them. My chams have always handled the situation themselves. If your having issues though, like stated, warm water or a shower should remedy the issue
As for your enclosure! Looks great...
Being new to the photography scene, I received some sound advice from Olimpia. Your photos were my 'go to' references on what I was shooting for! She informed me of the "magic hour" so I have been trying to focus on only shooting then. Unfortunately these were taken with my Iphone because I...
SO TRUE jann! My son turned me on to chameleons, this forum has took it to a whole different level. My Jackson is so sweet, but very timid! Never tries to bite me or run from me, how ever, he doesn't just walk to my hand either. I have to trick him, with a stick lol Care to share how you managed...
