Thermometer as in what a human uses to check their temperature? I wouldn't measure their skin temp- just the cage at the bottom, middle, top, and basking spot :)
No red bulb. They need complete darkness. Ceramic heat emitter is the way to go if you must. Just know it is perfectly fine if it gets to 50 degrees at night as long as he's getting the necessary heat during the day. It's actually really good for them to get a good drop in temps at night.
Lol I know what your talking about. Looks like she's shaking her whole body back and forth like a person would their head saying "no! No! No!"
Personally my chams have never done that to me, but they are really laid back. I've seen other peoples chameleons do that though. Especially females...
Yeah it's quite frustrating at first. That's why it's really important to have the setup up and running before the Cham arrives. So you can monitor the temps and humidity and such. You don't have to use the expensive bulbs. A regular old house bulb works. Don't waste your money on the basking...
Brianna!!! I haven't been on in awhile so I am just seeing this! He is really growing fast! I'm so glad you were able to get that girl switched out. He is beautiful.
That cage turned out fantastic! Such a neat way to convert a bird cage! Your boy is so handsome! He is going to develop beautifully! I'd call him chirp haha just because of the bird cage!

Hey thanks for filling out that form! I know it can be tedious. As you can see, by simply filling out the form very respected and knowledgable keepers/members have given some great advice/tips. The faster you can fix the issues the better. Time is key with chameleons. Things will turn ugly fast...
My jackson gets a variety of bugs. He really likes crickets which are his staple. So that's great. He's also fond of horn worms. In addition to these two he gets butterworms, pheonix worms, superworms, mealworms, Dubai, and blue bottle flies. I actually just ordered some Indian stick bugs and...
Nah- if he can get away from the light he is fine. I also agree with the age and hormone issues flux is talking about. My panther had only did the suicide flop once. Right around the time he became a man. Scared me so bad I didn't handle him for quite some time. Just hand fed. Hand feeding is...
My opinion would be to buy from who jannb told you. Just because I know she is very hands on and it showed when her baby came to my friends house. If she is saying her friend is hands on you can guarantee she is hands on. Veiled can be cranky. Especially if they are not handled. Purchase from...
I just wanted to give you some hope. He will always have MBD, but with intense care he can do well with it. Here is a girl who follows me on instagrams veiled and it's progression from day 1 rescue to about 6 months later.
