I got my veiled chameleon about a week ago and after finding out that his cage was probably too small for him, I went to look for some bigger cages and one that I wouldn't have to change out when he got really big. There was a sale on LLL Reptile for a cage 2'x2'x4' and I bought it and just got...
Surprisingly, got him at my local Petsmart. I'm a little hesitant to buy from pet stores from past experiences and how they are caged, but they gave him regular vet visits and I bought him 2 days after they brought him home from the vet after getting a small piece of bedding stuck in his side...

I am pretty new to chameleons and feel that I'm on my way with a bunch of help from you guys and want to now move up to not only giving my cham a minimal and sufficient amount of care, but the best possible. I am pretty busy now that I'm a full time college student and work whenever possible, so...
I noticed in your post that you said that there needs to be Phosphorus in their diet with a 2:1 ratio with the Calcium. But I just bought the same thing that you use to dust your crickets which is the RepCal without D3 and it contains no phosphorus...Flucker's makes a Calcium duster without D3...
Haha, all good, hey, headin out to Home Depot or this plant place by me and gonna either buy a Hibiscus, Schefflera, Bougainvillaea, Pothos, or a fern for his cage...but all that stuff is in the mail that I ordered, so should I just dust the crickets I'm feeding him now with Calcium with D3...
thanks, always gonna listen to experienced advice, ya, theres a place near me that specializes in cats and dogs, but they have lots of vets that specialize in reptiles, so I could probably take it there if anything happens
Alright, thanks, should be all set, I even went with the all screen cage 24''x24''x48'', it'll be his Christmas gift this year, next year its coal for him, lol
thanks for the help, first (RepCal Calcium with D3), third (RepCal Calcium without D3), and fifth (RepCal Herptivite Supplement) all in my cart, just wondering about any of the misters that they have? I have a little trouble keepin the humidity up and was wondering if it was worth getting any of...
Alright, I got all that stuff that I needed, except for the calcium without D3 and vitamins for dusting. Didn't find any of those at the pet stores I went to. Any suggestions on what to get and the best sites to get them from...so just need (1)a good site to get everything I need from and (2)all...
ya, thats my only problem, even in his glass cage, I can't keep it above 50, really weird, probably is the temperature of the basking light, I'll reduce that and see what happens...
So a list of things I'm gonna get tomorrow:
Reptibreze (biggest they got)
Tubular UVB
Dusting Vitamins
Dusting...
and since your replying so fast, lol, what is the humidity range I should keep him in, because I found a website that specifically said that veilds need a low humidity but I fought all day to keep it high, so I'll get a dripper tomorrow as well as a lower wattage bulb.
ya, I wish I had time to build one right now, but currently I am getting my EMT certification in the next month and taking paramedic classes in the upcoming semester, not tryin to make excuses, lol, but I will have plenty of time this winter and will buy a screen cage that is adequate in the...
