Glad you all are here to help.. I would be lost.. My husband was the one who originally wanted a Cham.. now I have taken over.. He comes to me for all the answers.. I love them little critters..
Sorry, I neglected to add, veiled.. We had 41 eggs laid on 3/1 and we are super excited. I see you are in Texas too, so if you can use the closet I should be able to also.
I had read/viewed many breeders stating a plastic storage bin in the house hall closet was the incubation spot. I recently read it should be 84 degrees. I tend to keep my house at 78 degrees just because it costs to much to keep it colder..
Is this warm enough? I know the closet does not have...
I have my first batch of veiled eggs, laid 3/1/12. I am trying to get everything set up for the big day.. What is a common mistake made? What should I be sure to have?
I plan to use a large tub with vines and mesh for the babies to start on. I have a smaller screen cage with a hood cover...
Hi I was keeping my 41 veiled eggs in hatchrite in 3 separate plastic containers in a rubber tub. In my hall closet.
My issue is, someone, no one will admit it, moved the box and the eggs got moved around/slid together, I heard this would be a problem because of an air pocket that forms on...
We use tie wire from a spool made for gardening. It fits through the screen without damage and we wrap it around the end of the bendy fake vines from Fluckers, sold at Petsmart.
the top of the plants are healthy, just not many leaves on the bottom. It is only getting light from one direction. My Chams are living in the top of the cages.
thanks for the advice on the soil. Where do I get the grow light, Is this online only or can I get it at Petsmart?
I have trouble keeping the ficus and umbrella plants living. I dont think the lights from the top only are working and they are getting over watered being under the mist.
What do you do about this?
We have two 2x2x4, one is on a folding camping table, sturdy enough, the other is on a round resin white table from the garden center at walmart. Neither cost of 20$. I still need to put in drains with buckets, right now we have water drip into plants, and sometimes they get too wet.
thanks for the help, I have them about 3 feet apart were she cannot get to his cage but I will get the panel from the petstore just to give them more privacy. less stress.
We have our veiled, one male, one female in 4 x 2 x2 ft cages on tables-- one on each side of a door inside our room, they each have leaf covered vines and live large plants as well as bendable vine to walk on.
Question-- should I block the view from each other? I can add a panel of fabric...
March 1st Roxy laid her eggs, he face is got mud stuck on it. I have had water streaming in her cage many times, she is not washing it off. Should I? Is it going to cause her problems if I let her stay dirty?
