True indeed, my cham shys away from misting...or so I thought. Until I caught him lapping up the run off from the vine. As long as the water is warm from the tap it should suffice.
I have yet to make the jug style feeder, my jacksons are strange one day they will eat from the deli cup one day they wont. I vary his diet with wax worms as he loves meal worms and doesnt like crickets too much. My chams prefer to eat right off the basking vine above all, they are lazy I...
Jacksons tolerate weather changes better than most. But I would advise an evening heat source I run a "moon" light so to speak...black heat light when temps dip low. I like my Jacksons...always have so I am biased. Many say they are difficult to keep but I beg to differ, they like temps changes...
I run a set up with 1/4 mesh, custom made by me. Home depot sells clear vinyl sheeting by the foot. I ran a few strips around the bottom and thumb tacked them into the wood. Keeps them in if they last that long! My Jackson wastes no time to eat.
The mylar may freak him out if he can see his reflection, i considered mylar to seal off one side of my enclosure to up my humidity levels, but went with a black plastic sheet for this very reason. I think its awesome you let him roll around freestyle like, and bonsai happen to be a favorite of...
IMO they are young...no, infant creatures. Coordination comes in time. I would simply consider that as well. Also as far as seeing the flies, I put a light dust on the flies, it makes them slower for a little while as they dont jump around and not to mention white fluffy lil flies are easier to...
I personally would remove em, the "vines" they sell at petsmart are my favorite, not too cheap at 6-10$ for 6 feet. Your ropes seem fine but my main concern is that they are fiberous and can harbor bacteria, nobody like that. Maybe a snagged toenail on occasion...best to prevent it before it...
I certainly cant find much selection out here in the mountains! I was lucky to find, fruit flies alive to feed the cham I got from Joe! Say where did you get sven from he is a nice specimen!
I use my cameras for cars more than anything, my favorites are my Kodak 8.3 mp p880, I got all the extra lenses and tripods, not to ment my new pocket cam, the new kodak 10mp...I forget the model number but they are swweeeeet and cheap too, and 10mp camera for less than 150.On sale that is.
Looks like you are ready to me, just make sure your temps are in a good range, I ran my set up for a few days to be sure temps were stable. humidity you will battle with but if you keep up on the misting you should be fine. I use a fluker digital and i simply moved it around to see what the...
Ah yea, like it was yesterday. growing up on Oahu had many, many....many advantages. Like Jackson Chams, we would go hiking at night in a "haunted forest", armed with flashlights and mesh nets, these guys would be snoozing everywhere in the trees. I had 3 of em, made cages in wood shop, back in...
The videos are off the hook! Thats one angry cham, and the hissing! He was gonna carve a chunk out of something. And Joe, Im digging the music, Im more of a Peter Tosh man myself. And your Panthers are wicked good looking!
Holy cow! Those are some trees man! They have a replica one at our local zoo but it does not compare. No chance on stuffing one of these guys in an enclosure.
I had a similar dilemma, price is of course a concern as veileds are more common..where I live that is. Available in more pet shops, etc. A panther can reach upwards of 300$+ , where the veiled is around 100$ roughly.
