    New Baby Veiled Help

Maybe he is related to my Prometheus? He is from LLL also and I'm not blaming them but this guy is the meanest, nastiest, people hater I have ever seen and even after 6 months has gotten not much better about anything :) But, (knock on wood) he is healthy and beautiful and I love him anyway...

Sooo glad to hear more good news on his progress! Just curious, Jann, on his x-rays it lists him as Luie E. What does the E. stand for?

PLEASE HELP!! vieled chameleon eating dirt and acting drunk.

He may be eating dirt because he is lacking minerals, etc. that he is trying to get from the dirt. If the dirt bits are small enough that is not much concern unless he eats so much that it will not pass through and he gets constipated or impacted if the dirt bits are larger. Make sure he eats...

    veiled name

We named our male veiled Prometheus. Not because of the movie that just came out but because in Greek mythology he is a trickster (stole fire for human use) and known for his intelligence. Our little guy is pretty smart about hiding and making us look all over the cage for him so that's how he...

    Female veiled trouble

Not a good idea to leave the light on. They don't sleep well if the lights stay on. If she is in a room that doesn't get too cool, she should be fine with no extra heat and total dark. Best deal is to get a ceramic heat emitter and you can keep her warm around the clock. I hope she does...

    Female veiled trouble

Chameleons are awesome and addicting. I can't imagine life without them. I hope you have good luck with yours. The best way to get top-notch advice on what you have/need, etc. is to fill out the awful questions. :) It is worth doing and you take a copy of the updated info to any vet...

    odd looking cham poop

Welcome to the forum! Good job on filling out the "how to ask for help" right off the bat! Carol is right and the bulb you are using is good for warmth only. The info on the bulb says: "Provides basking heat source for reptiles to regulate their body temperature. Simulates the natural...

    Advice Please for Rescue Yemen

Kudos on taking on this baby! If her legs are really that bad, I would suggest doing everything you can to keep her from climbing. I just put Twister on a towel covered board with vines and leaves so he felt like he was hiding in a tree but couldn't fall or climb and I could set his board in...

    Weighing In

What is the easiest way to weigh a fighting un-friendly cham? I am tempted to just put him in a container with a lid on it but am afraid that will freak him out even worse. He was only a bit testy until I got him and he got put into the container to come home. The whole time he was in it he...

    Swollen Hemipenis- some guidance requested

Glad to hear that Samuel is doing well and that you got so much helpful advice on here. It is awesome when the vets on here help out. BUT, take this time to find a reasonable but experienced vet in your area just in case things take a turn for the worse. Dr. O and ferritinmyshoes helped me...

I can't believe how much they have grown!

Poppi is 6 months old now so it was time for another weigh-in: 74 grams! That is a 13 gram increase in one month. It just seems like they both got huge in the last 30 days... :) Here is Poppi one and a half months ago: And here she is today: Big difference, huh...
