During handling some chameleons can tremble or give out a low frequencing buzzing that sounds a like a bee - i've observed this in veileds before but it can also happen in leaf chameleons and in the Kenyan pygmy chameleons.
2 days is quite a few days to be down there - do you have a web cam you can set up to see if she is coming out at all without disturbing her too much?
Laying is such a difficult time - i'm inclined to suggest you should try and get a look at her.................
Lets see what everyone else...
Oh Abby i'm so sorry for your loss - as kinyonga suggested, getting a necropsy done may provide some answers so get in touch with your vet. Best wishes xx
I never had my cham eat whilst outside - she seemed genuinely petrified of anything flying!
I guess the main concern is that they don't eat anything that may have been in contact with pesticides etc which you'll never been 100% sure of.....
Oh dear, sorry Clair isn't feeling great. I'd say that her not eating is a normal response to her illness - try not to get too concerned about this just keep an eye on her weight and make sure she keeps drinking.
You should increase her basking site temp to the mid 80's so she's warm enough...
He's a cutie and he looks really well!
Seems from the video he's really comfortable with you - it's a real blessing when you have a friendly cham - my Dolly would 'ask' to come out of her viv and we'd sit and watch tv lol
Some chams like to be hand 'watered' - just make sure you don't choke her whilst doing it. You could try using one of those small rodent water bottles with the metal ball tip - chams are attracted to the water droplets and the metallic ball.
Glad it sounds like Clair is going to be ok :)
Make sure you keep up the water intake whilst she is on the antibiotics - they can be difficult for their little kidneys to process so they need to be well hydrated throughout the time they take the antiobiotics.
Thanks for your kind words. I...
Yeah i know what you mean - always find a sneaky one even when you think you've found them all!! I'd keep an eye and possibly have a little look in his viv to see if you can find any fresh ones.... If you overly concerned a drop or two of cod liver oil can help move things along :o
