Okay, everyone, he is doing waaaaay better. Misted 4 times today at 2 minutes each. Got back from a mountain bike ride about an hour ago and he is not sleeping anymore, he is up and active. I noticed he was been basking a lot since I moved him too. He just looks 100% better. Just peeked in and...
Sounds like a good idea. I'm ordering some Phoenix worms ASAP and having them overnighted. Unfortunately even at that probably wont get them until Tuesday. So I will try and find some waxworms to get some fats in him and get him feeling better.
That's actually a good suggestion but unfortunately I already thought of it last week and it's made no difference. For the past 7 days I have been making sure his crickets are very small by sorting them from the bigger ones before I put them in his cage. I'm really just leaning towards stress /...
Laurie,
Your kidding? Your Wally World has Butterworms?...hmm mine may have waxworms. I was calling around like mad in January looking for waxworms and no one had them, I assume it was because fishing season wasn't in full swing. So are they in the fishing section?
Okay, so I have peeked in on him only twice and he has been up and moving. Good sign. He is also wide eyed and awake. Hope this keeps up. Unfortunately don't think he has been eating. There are 5 cricket chilling with him on the bask branch! LOL! Hmmm, maybe he's turned vegan? JK! Anyway...
Yeah I have heard mixed feelings about window locale. I have been keeping my female by a window ever since I got her 3 months ago and she is thriving there. I keep close tabs on the temp fluctuation and it does vary a few degrees especially in the morning with the sun directly coming into the...
Alright, I cleared a spot for him in my spare work room, the room has my stock for my eBay business ( full of bike parts ) The business is not full time so I rarely even go in that room but 3-4 times a day. He is right next to a window with some natural sunlight, heat register beneath him, and...
Alright, going to move his cage for the time being. I did not handle my female for a month after I first brought her home and she is doing great. So defintely no handling for sometime unless nessecary. And serious misting is coming.
Okay, going to stop handling for awhile and start misting ASAP. Has anyone else had a Cham throw a hunger strike at this young of age? Trying to decide if he is just being picky. I mean I have literally seen crickets walking by just inches in front of his face and he doesn't eat them.
I have to be honest, I have not been misting his enclosure at all. This is one thing that I was doing with the female that I haven't done with him....hmmmm? This could be part of it as well. I'd like to offer him some different feeders but he is just so small I'm not sure I can find any worms...
Yeah that is another theory I had. I think I'll pick him up a bigger bulb today. I noticed he was trying to get directly under the bulb yesterday by hanging on the screen top. So he might not be warm enough. Also the first couple days he was home it was in the 80s outside so it was quite warm in...
Okay, I hoped I would not have to be posting on the health forum for a long time but unfortunately here I am. I have a 4 month old Baby Nosy Be Panther Chameloen. I brought him home from the breeder about 2 weeks ago. The first day he ate 14 crickets, then he slowly began tapering his eating...
Hey everyone, thought I would throw up some pics of our 6 month old Nosy Be Female, Chloe. She is quite the character, she thinks my wife and I are the devil incarnate! LOL! No, she really is not too bad, once you get her out of the cage she calms down pretty good. We thought she was a male for...
I had the same problem. I buy mine from Ghann's cricket farm, they sell 250 at a time in any size. Their crickets are awesome, really healthy. It's the same place my Chameleon breeder buys from.
Oh yeah, JannB is right. I would warm her up too. Maybe bump that 25watt back to a 50watt. Just make sure you are not getting your bask too hot. anything in the mid 80's is OK, but when you get up into the mid 90's that may be too much.
Sounds to me like you are doing everything right. Panthers just need a while to adjust to their cages sometimes. Both of my panthers were started off at 3 months in 2x2x3 cages. And they both did not eat very well for a good 2 weeks. They were only eating between 2-6 crickets a day. As long as...
Well I checked out a few places already and...yeah... saving a ton of money is right!!! The pet store is drilling me!!! Looks like I can get bulk crickets for like 4 cents each as opposed to 15 cents. Keeping my Chams is going to be a whole lot less stressful on my wallet now. Going to order a...
Ok, so I have a 5 month old female Nosy be and I absolutely love her to death. I'm loving the Cham thing so much I just made a payment on another Nosy Be ( Male ) picking him up next week from the same breeder I got my female. I guess the thing I am getting at is I am going to have 2 growing...
