good luck with whatever you decide
if you are the type of person who is up for the project then this may be a great descision for you. really, both methods will work with similiar results, its a bit of a choice between quality , convinience and looks or size and less pricey.
me myself i...
My opinion
In that low humidity, if u can afford it youDEFINITELY want glass. There is an exo-terra tank 36x18x36 which would be PERFECT for your needs. With a glass tank rather then a screen cage covered with ugly shower curtains, you are going to have a lot better luck keeping the humidity up...
What wattage is the bulb? Unless it more then 100 watts( probably too warm) you should be able to rest the lamp right on the flex, or use the clip to clasp the bar and have it ~2 inches up. You are going to lose alot of heat in 30 cm and it would be better and cheaper and easier to just use a...
I live in Edmonton Alberta, it rarely gets warmer outside then inside. The few days that it would be to warm( fewer then 10 a year) I considered getting a mini a/c or blowing a fan across it, what do you guys think?
This is the cage that has been offered to me, for a better price then even a basic screen set-up, so this is the enclosure I will be buying today. I will lose the waterfall. I don't see the problem with the misting system if I'm cleaning regularly and have some sort of drainage system. As for...
Sorry, but I would very highly recommend staying away from the all in one bulbs, doesn't give out as much UVB, and what is does give out is to intense. It is also often to hot.
If you are using this bulb however, you will want to have it at least 4 inches off the terarium.
Would also be...
i would only mist more when i had a fan running, i would definitely just try to find away to keep my humidity and my temps right. i am more then willing to drain the puddles etc. i guess i'll just have to seenwhat works :)
thank you guys all again, i think i will be getting this tank and...
To lingling- no unfortunately the height is 24 :( I live in Alberta so the glass tank should be fine. Do you have recommendations for drainage?
To jimturner- thanks for the advice, I will have the exo-terra monsoon so in the summer months I will probably turn off the basking bulb and set my...
i was hoping to stay away from them, as they are a bigger pain to feed the smaller crickets, even harder to handle and have less color, but pygmies are always an option, what do u think about the fischers?
hey guys, its me.... again :D sorry about all the posts but after reading this thread

i have regained hope. i will be getting a 36x18x24 inch glass exo-terra terrarium tommorow.
i will...
thank you ataraxia, and sorry for my remark, i misread your post, and for whatever reason saw it as slightly hostile? doesnt make sense, but thats the way i saw it.... again my apologies, i didnt mean to sound so rude.
ignorance at its finest
well if you had actually read that thred it may have addressed your concerns. sometimes it really bugs me, the ignorance of some people on this forum. most of you are extremely helpfull and for you guys, i do really appreciate it :)
Thanks alot for the info carlton. Any species you would suggest in particular? I realize I seemed kindof stubborn, but I'm not trying to be I'm simply exploring the options I have. And trust me Carlton, if I could have more terrariums I would have dozens. I love reptiles, and I will do my best...
Well I would obviously do extensive research on regions, toxins etc before trying it. I know that peacock geckos electric blue geckos gold dust geckos all come from the same regions are diurnal and don't carry toxins. I would likely monitor th chams maybe cup feed them and have a few branches...
thank all of you guys for all of the imput. a couple more questions. can pygmies be put with frogs/ small geckos. from what i hear pygmies are at least a little bit more communal. also curious about other smaller true chameleons ( jacksons, fischers) others? what are they? and how would they do...
sorry about all these threads im starting guys, but this will probably be my last one for a little bit, until i make my choice.
what are interesting chameleons that would be alright in a 36x18x24 inch tank. nevermind my earlier posts as i am willing to modify the setup, just not the...
