So I'm using like one of those white construction bins for her egg laying bin. The sand is pretty close to the top. But she can't climb out. My question is do I need to use a heat lamp in the laying bin???
Thanks guys. I will b home in about an hour or so and will start to work on it. Does she need the heat lamp while in the laying bin? And should I leave her in there until she's done? Even if it takes a couple days? Cuz she won't get food or water if I'm not supposed to disturb her...
my cham is laying on the bottom of her cage and she dug in the sand in her cage this morning. but i wont b home for like 5 hours. do u think she can last that long without her laying bin?? im super scared :(
I've had the sand in there for a few days and she didn't seem to take interest in it.... She actually seemed like she didn't like it... Should I put her in the bin anyways?
ok, is she fat or is she about to lay eggs? im having a tough time believing its eggs cuz she stays up in the vine all day and doesnt really move. and she ate about 5 crickets this morning. so.. do i just have a fat lazy cham on my hands?
this was her last night right before i turned out the...
if your cham will eat lettuce mist the lettuce so it has water droplets on it. so when he eats it he will also get the water. thats the only way i can make sure mine is drinking. no iceburg lettuce!
thats what i thought too. like it would hold in some of the moisture. but another member had informed me that too much moisture being stagnant in the cage could lead to a respiratory infection... so im confused on what to do...
yeah i do free range the crickets. she wont eat them any other way. it hasnt been happening lately because the crickets are being stupid and hide behind the backing i have on the cage. so they eventually go on to the top of the cage and out of the bark.
yeah whenever she gets bark in her mouth i have to try and go in and pull it out. ill try a towel or paper towels the next time i clean out her cage in the next week or so. thanks. :)
ok thanks. so just putting something on the bottom of the cage that will keep the water from seeping thru to the shelf underneath and getting everything all wet would b ok?
Is it required to have bedding on the bottom of the cage? i have bark in their now, and sometimes when shes hunting the crickets, she will shoot for one on the ground and get a bunch of bark in her mouth. plus the bark gets really wet and starts to stink and it never dries out.
so... is it...
She is a veiled. i mist her for about a good two to three minutes. and i mist her like 4 or 5 times a day. and i have a dripper. i can get her to drink a lot when i put her in a bin when im cleaning out her cage. i put her and her plants in a deep plastic bin and mist her. she will just sit...
hmm. thanks. ill keep that in mind. my moms not too thrilled about having any crickets in her house to begin with, so starting a colony might not go well with her, and she is the source of money for things for my cham so i dont want to make her mad :p but when i move out and get another cham in...
yeah she wont even like lick the water off the plants.. the only way i can get her to drink is when i actually spray her and the water runs down her face.
and idk if we have dubias here in colorado. are they something you can get at a normal pet store?
