to each is there own on the water fall idea.. it can be done but its an extra cleaning pain.. such as when he lands a poo bomb into it (he will i promise) and then it needs to be broke down and completely cleaned out.
describe your cage style and size.. screen plexi glass mix?? size??
i like...
can you post a picture?
i hate to say it.. i bet the water fall is terrrific. but filtered or not its a drowning hazaard and still a bacteria hazard. filtering the water does help but i wont recommend it.
and i dont recommend substrate either.. i prefer just potted plants sitting on a plan...
depends on the direct sunlight exposure.. i mean always make sure to offer plenty of shade. but if hes getting lots of natural sunlight the usage of D3 can be minimal if any at all. maybe just one dose every 2 months and a light dose at that.. but as far as plain calcium and multivit. id stay...
yea its good to have the lights on for 12 hours. for instance 7-7 oclock. and misting 3 times a day to 4 times a day for 3-4 minutes. but let it dry at least an hour before bedtime.. and no lights or heat at night. :)
this is a good idea! with rocks at the bottom soil then rocks ontop..
and yes i do use just a bag of playsand from homedepot. its cheap and does the trick.
i also agree with no moss. chams will try to eat anything (most will anyways)
Judging by the probability that he's I doors and his cage hasnt changed nor the temps. So he probably has no idea its winter. Unless Uve Significantly lowered the room temp to replicate winter... Don't know id suggest that Personally.. but anywho veileds love hunger strikes so a 5 month male...
There's no scientifically exact answer is why its so hard to come by. Nature isnt very exact all the time. for a panther cham a relative humidity inbetween mistings sould be around 35%-55% with spikes up to around 80-85% when misting occures. Keeping it in those peramiters is safe. To dry isn't...
Okay first off congrates on making ur Cham an improved home :)
Next. Yes tge soil does need to be changed to an organic soil (one with no fertilizers or pesticides.
Then ur plant needs a wash. Washing the plants leaves with a light dishsoap and water solution to take away in existing...
I can agree with this but the OP has to realize that not only can he get a good amount of UVB exposure farther but a great deal of it in the basking spot. So the levels of gained UVB exposure are greater so the normal calcium with D3 Needs to be lessened to compensate. The normal 2 doses a month...
Welcome to the club..
It's not bad he won't eat wax worms.. there like cream filled doughnuts..
Try hornworms and silkworms.
Mine wont try dubias either. U can try only offering dubias for 3-5 days. But may not work.. from wat i hear a lot. If there raised on crickets they will stay with...
I agree with nightanole on bulb size and getting a 6500k that'll help ur plants grown tramendously.. but I'm not sure what kind of Cham sheldon is. But 10.0 is alot. 5.0 would be preferred for most species and senarios.
As the title states. I want to see ur purple passion plants.
Ive been growing a purple passion plant for a few months now also a spider plant and more pothos starts. In due for a break down and repot of everything. So how do ur purple passions do? How do they look?
You were a great cham owner and breeder and I hate to see this happen like everyone else.. best of luck! And it woukdnt kill ya to stop back by and say hello :)
If It were me id make it super clear if for any reason wat so ever uve had enough bring em back no questions asked. Thatll knock out bordem, neglect, or them rehoming to just anyone.. i always prefer to re-rehome if necessary. Ur friend may not be to concerned whom they go to as long as there...
