It's starting to get a little darker now, but i'll definately appreciate any help you can give. I'll take pictures tomorrow in the sun so the picture is clearer and the tree is easier to see into . . . are you thinking multiple close-ups? or one big picture of the tree?
yea, its ironic because your worried about it being too hot, whereas i'm worried about it getting cold . . .
You can consider that a bit lucky though, since it's hot he'll be thirsty, so spray down the bottom of the tree like noones business and he'll no doubt come down to quench his thirst ...
I could always try, but i'm not so sure he would willingly climb DOWN to go into his cage? I mean, i think he's enjoying the freedom of life right now.
Also, is there any information on whether he would most likely be in the willow that he entered or one of the more rigid neighboring trees...
Yea i'm in the same scenario, but mine's been gone 10days now and still no sign though i have been looking intently . . .
One thing i havn't tried is using a female so i'd suggest that, as for me i wont let down my search, not till it snows . . .
Good Luck!
Only problem is that my parents "solution" was to cut all the vines and cut down the broken branch he climbed up, so NOW he's stuck up there with no way down . . . i was furious when i heard they did that, but what's done is done
Besides, the cage would have to be VERY high off the ground...
See, my property ends at my back wall, of which is 10-15ft high. At this elevation, there are properties behind my house. The willow is positioned on one of these properties so its base is already 10-15ft taller than it should.
The willow itself towers over my house and overhangs 4...
Great story, hope all turns out well for me too! But i dont have 7 months, lol here in Jersey it starts getting pretty cold come October, so i got 4months tops way i look at it
Just out of curiosity, where did you find him? and wa he in a single tree or was there a line of trees, like in my...
yea thats what i figured i just wasnt sure because the days the wind picks up i would think he'd leave the willow whose branches sway with the wind and move to the more rigid neighboring tree no? and thanks for the advice on the feeders and shaking the branches!
Yea i was cleaning his cage and he was hanging out in a 5ft hibiscus tree when he made his escape up a vine draping down my 10ft back wall, up a broken branch leading into the vines, and up into a giant willow on my neighbors property (their property is elevated 10ft higher than my house) and...
Still no sign, please keep your fingers crossed for me . . . i'll keep you guys posted if he turns up, way i see it is he's got all summer, and i wont stop looking
today is now officially a week since his dissappearance and i was tresspassing EVERYBODY'S yards to try and find out just how many trees were connected to this one and established HE CAN BE ANYWHERE!!! the trees link down to 2houses down, which is over 7 trees and THEN the property the willow...
yea i figured since chams sense vibrations of sound, i put a little cage of mature crickets to attract him, then i have the saucer with mealworms on a neighboring branch to the cage and my hope is that he'll find his way to that saucer where i can plainly see him and hopefully catch him
yea i'm trying to find a LED light, i have a feeling that would be more efficient . . . damn its almost already been a week! he could be in any one of several trees by now! ughhhhh
yea i know thats what i'm worried about, is the weather mostly, but the cooler temperatures only slow muscle function, and since their toung is more like a bow and arrow mechanism and isnt in fact a muscle, his feeding shouldnt be impared, given there's sufficient food source in the tree
