ROFL. :) Oh jeez so I am gonna have a crap load of little moths everywhere. Ha ha ha! I am gonna let them know tomorrow. Wont be buying it from them anymore.
Thanks for all the insight. It is much appreciated. Like I said I made an extra box and I am going to go ahead and let these little guys mature. I really hope they are wax worms. My cham will be excited to get some treats. :)
I plan on it. I am going there tomorrow to pick up pinkies for all my snakes and I am taking 5 or 6 of the worms and letting them know/asking for my money back.
I think it is cool but at the same time I did not pay for bedding that is riddled with bugs. :)
I thought that too but it is not fat. It is mushy like a wax worm but looks more like a tiny meal worm. I made a seperate bin for these guys and I am going to go ahead and let them live in there and see what they are. It is really driving me nuts not know. There are so many of them though!!!
I dont know if you can tell from the picture but it does seem to have little hairs on its back. Theese little worms have me stumped. I hope they are at least something I can feed. :)
Hmmm. Now I am wondering what the heck they are and if I should toss that bedding??? I have about 100 supers in with this bedding right now and I dont want any kind of issue.
Could they be silk worm babies? It seems like they are making silk.
Ya I pretty much hose the cage down and dump some boiling water on it. Dont know if that split second it comes in contact with the boiling water actually helps but it makes me feel like it does. :) lol
I bought my bedding from a local reptile store and it looks like he housed his supers in it. (wont be buying it from there again unless these are supers) I was putting the bedding into my breeder boxes for the supers and beetles and notices a ton of these little guys. I counted 30 before I...
See you guys on Saturday. I am really excited to go. My husband made bonus and our taxes were done early so we are gonna stay the night in Orlando and maybe go to Downtown Disney. :)
I try to avoid the pet stores these days. Every time I go into one I get played or see an animal that really needs to be saved.
At least you are doing everything to make sure he/she is happy and healthy.
I would try and post some pictures. The Raising Kitty site is hands down the best source...
Here is what I do and this works for me. Everyone will have different ways.
I spot clean the poo pretty much as soon as it happens (my cham is great at being "regular"). I pick up any dead or dying feeders after each feed (usually give her about an hour to eat).
Once a month I take the...
Cool to know what that buzzing actually is. I havent had my cham for too too long but I did realize the buzzing when it came time to replace the bulb. Other than that I dont get any buzzing.
Mine will occasionally hang out under the dripper. Especially when she is shedding. The water helps them shed easier from what I understand so that might be why. :) No worries though!
