It is better to have young chameleons housed in a smaller cage because it is much easier to monitor food, fecal and just their general well being. If you can't get a smaller cage for a few months I would put some large fluffy towels at the bottom (change them every few days) just in case he does...
There is literally no end to his problems :(
Oliver has been on a liquid diet for almost 2 months now...can that cause IBS? There is no blood in the urate but spots of dark blood are present in the fecal. This is not every poop...yesterday he had a normal poop and he hasn't had any blood since...
After 4 days of cleanings his skin has improved tremendously! We still do not know what type of fungus but the vet should hear back from a specialist in the next day or so. His skin is shiny from the cleaner. As you can see it is no longer thick and yellow around his limbs and the original...
I agree with fungal, especially around this feet. With the fungal I have experienced, it comes on really quick and sudden. He needs a vet visit and get on the appropriate medicine asap. I hope he feels better!!
Results from lab were unconclusive. The vet is getting in contact with a specialist to figure out why it is taking him so long to respond to the meds.
They did confirm it is not CANV, which is really good news :o
Yes, as of today it was still at the lab. I should have the results tomorrow.
The fungal under his legs has improved tremendously with the cleanings. :)
Well he didn't love the metacam. I gave him a dose and he almost immediately threw it up. I tried about 30 minutes later with a smaller amount and he again puked it up. :(
Okay. Poor guy...I think I'm going to try and get a small dose of metacam for him, he hates hates the cleaning and I want to alleviate as much pain as possible. :(
Update: there is fungal growing, however it is unrecognizable by my vet. She said where it would be usually turning white, it is turning red/black in the culture. We are sending it off to another lab to have it analyzed.
She said that fungus usually takes 7-10 days to grow and this grew in 5...
Well I thought he has getting better. Day 3 of Intraconazole with ceftaz and this has appeared on his "good" side
His other side has had no marks on it until yesterday...is this indicative of fungal?
I took him back to the vet today for a skin scraping and she said we will know if there is fungus present in 7-10 days.
He gained 3 grams, so I was really happy about that :D
She also prescribed .9 ml of oral itraconazol in the event fungus is present. Should I go ahead and give him the...
I don't purposely leave the branches sharp....he got himself wedged in between them and before I could cut him out he was free :( I've since then, fixed that :)
Now another symptom...can blood come out when he ejaculates sperm plugs??
The blood where I'm pointing the stick at is on top of...
