Hi! I've had these 2 wonderful baby Veiled's for a month now. Xerxes, the male, has doubled in size, he had a shed already. Jade, the female, has not really grown at all... They both eat and drink and are treated exactly the same, same environment, same food. Should I be worried? I'm pretty...
Thank you! Did you use screen or did you use a larger fencing material for your cage. We are thinking we will build two cages, we have two veiled babies right now. They are in the same cage but we built a separation barrier. They can not see each other but share the lights. I know this is...
I'm just curious, if the screen cages harm adult chameleons nails why is that all that is sold? I am looking around at different ideas so when my baby veiled chameleons get bigger I can upgrade the cage, but everything is a screen or glass which isn't good. I can't free range because we have 3...
Oh wow, I didn't realize screen climbing was a bad thing...my babies don't do it that much, but sometimes when hunting crickets they will. I will have to try to fix the cage sometime very soon. I have been a little nervous about falls, but never thought about the nails. :-/
Thank you! I bought them from Backwater Reptiles. They shipped them over night and I was able to track them the whole way here. They arrived packages well, and they were bright green so they didn't appear to be stressed at all. I selected juvenile so was a little shocked at how tiny they were. I...
Hey! Well, I finally got veiled chameleon babies 1 female and 1 male. I have not figured out names for them yet. I asked for juveniles, but received these very tiny little guys. They are eating and drinking, but I really do not want anything to happen to them so if anyone has any...
Looking into getting a new chameleon in the future. Is it better to get a baby or an adult? Advice would be great. I'm thinking of a Veiled or a Jackson's this time. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Right now I'm just researching.
I was thinking about that bird netting today, too bad I didn't think about it before. Watch your Chameleons, it sucks to lose one. I'm just sick to my stomach thinking of all of the possible outcomes for her. I will definitely get another chameleon, but I'll wait a little bit. Leona was a big...
OMG I wasn't even thinking about most of those predators.:( Poor girl. I'm hoping she can hide well. I've pretty much given up hope of finding her, but the not knowing what happened sucks. I'll wait a while before I get another one and definitely will watch it more closely outside and take it...
My dilemma, she could be anywhere. She started out in the small red leafed tree...We think she went up the big tree, we looked in every bush, shrub, all areas for over an hour. I'm sure she is enjoying it right now, but it's been dry here and it will get cold... I'm starting to worry that she is...
Thank you! We will keep looking. Worried about the feral cats, but she can hide pretty well I guess. Maybe they won't notice her. I hope to be one of the lucky owners who does end up finding her sooner rather than later. Poor girl.
I was worried about a bird maybe, but we never heard anything. She was not far from us at all, but we were weeding the flower bed and we took turns checking on her. If she wasn't taken she is probably in the super tall, old tree in our side yard. There is no was for us to climb to where she...
We have a small tree out front that we have put our chameleon in so many times. Today we were working in the flower gardens, and we kept checking on her, but the next time I looked for her she was gone. I'm worried about her and wondering where she could have gone? We checked out yard and our...
